Barrett and Kimmorley have the runs on the board, simple as that. They have had solid rep careers and are hugely experienced. I could rely on them to at the very least play their role in organising the team from halfback as and be comfortable under pressure they have proven themselves at rep level before and that's good enough for me. I cannot say the same for Orford, though. His club form is probably as good as any NSW halfback but IMO he has simply not showed anything to suggest that he can handle Origin.

That argument is relevent 5 years ago.

Funny how winning Dally M POTY and a premiership in 4 weeks isn't good enough for Origin.

1. Mullins
6. Daley
7. Stuart
9. Walters

Thats the spine from god right there. That was also the spine for the 94 kangaroo tour. And to make it even more formidable add 13. Brad Clyde.

Pfft.

1) Taylor
6) Kenny
7) Sterling
9) Edge

with Price at 13 feeding Cronin, Ella and Grothe.

Nope, it's a great achievement to win those awards but IMO none of his performances, even the awards don't dispell the perception that he cracks under pressure, simply because he hasn't been placed under said pressure in winning them. It proves he is a good club player, which we already knew.

And that is different from the rest of the NSW squad -how?

Wouldn't mind seeing some of the other classics, or a franchise's best players into a 1,6,7,9 combo.

Here's a good one:

1. Darren LOCKYER
6. Wally LEWIS
7. Allan LANGER
9. Kerrod WALTERS

As others before me have mentioned, the halves, hookers and backs are not worth a pinch of sh*t unless you're pack is giving them the room and field position to get chances

with canberra's pack next year, which is not only one of the best but has the best depth, so long as our halves are in any way decent we'll be in for a good year. If Herbert stays fit and Campo continues on from last year, we're fair dinkum contenders. Our pack if fully fit, will not get beaten by any pack in the comp, its too big, too strong, its got balance with mobility and work rate aswell.

FTR: i think Melbourne, Manly and Broncos have the best spines... Penrith, Canberra and the Knights have the spines that are probably not rated but if they click, can become a really good unit.

If you are compiling a list of all time best to compete with all time greats from other clubs, it would actually be very easy to go past any list with either "Gibbs" or "Serdaris" in it.

Disagree, Gibbs was a great player cruelled by injury. Wasn't picked on the 78' Kanagaroo tour for nothing.

Sedaris, another NSW and Australian rep. Dally M hooker of the year 94,96.
Des Hasler was also used as an interchange Hooker in 96.

Well played.
I will go loyal and throw in a:

1. Fairfax
6. Fittler
7. Thicknesse
9. Pearce

I know it's unpredictable to choose Thicknesse and Pearce, since none of us have seen their ability. I'm just going by folklore. :)

LOL at the Manly lineups - two of them that don't include Fulton.

Here's the winner:

Thornett
Kenny
Sterling
Edge

The Raiders and Broncos mentioned would fight out the reserve grade spots.

And the Bears half would obviously be Thompson, not Taylor.

HUNTER MARINERS

6. Scott Hill
7. Brett Kimmorley
9. Robbie McCormack
