pretty good effort from Pato, still only a teenager and scored 2 in an away draw at Roma, the kid has a ton of pace and good control when he is at high speed

not a bad game to watch,

Becks had an average game on the right wing, showed some reasonable passing skills but not match fit, hasn't played since October

boy do we miss Gatusso

Why Kaka won't leave AC Milan
For reasons of space, the statement by Kaka explaining why he turned down Manchester City was edited by his agent.

On a prayer: what were Kaka's real reasons for rejecting Manchester City? Photo: AFP
Telegraph Sport has obtained a full draft of the document. The cut lines are between parentheses.
"After Saturday's game many people showed me their support [not least the 50 or so fans who camped outside my flat all night long shouting encouraging words like 'remember we know where you live'].
"I have even received drawings by kids trying to convince me to stay [I was particularly persuaded by the one of a stick man hanging from a scaffold with a sword thrust into his ribs and the word 'traitor' hanging on a sign round his neck.]
"I'm currently celebrating this decision at home with a couple of friends [though obviously only with a bottle of Asti Spumante, the champagne is a little out of my price range now I'm not going to Manchester].
"I'm a religious person and I believe the path God decides for us is not always the most logical one [although in this case God got it spot on. When I first approached Him through prayer for advice about Manchester City, He just said one word: 'who?']
"My team-mates were incredible [David Beckham was very useful, filling me in with the details of the climate in Manchester].
"I haven't been a Manchester City player, not even for one minute [though now they've shown their ambition by signing Craig Bellamy maybe I need to get my agents to reopen communication]."

AC Milan's Emerson denies claiming Kaka wants Real Madrid move

22.01.09 | tribalfootball.com
AC Milan midfielder Emerson has denied quotes attributed to him over claims Kaka wants to move to Real Madrid.

An interview with Emerson was published in yesterday's Spanish press, but he insisted last night: "I never talked about Kaka going to Real Madrid, my statements were misunderstood.

"I would never join in the events concerning Ricky, we are friends, talk often, but we have never touched on this subject."

'Beckham wants to stay in Milan' - report

January 23 2009 at 04:28PM

Milan - David Beckham is determined to make his loan deal with AC Milan permanent and is even willing to take a drastic cut in wages to ensure a move away from his club LA Galaxy.

The Italian sports daily Gazzetta Dello Sport ran a "Beckham Forever" headline across its front page Friday, claiming the former Manchester United star is loving life in Milan, is learning Italian and doesn't want to return to the United States.

Beckham's loan deal only runs until March and he is believed to be willing to give up his five-year deal with LA Galaxy, which runs until 2011 and is reputedly worth in the region of $200 million, to ensure he retains his place in Fabio Capello's England squad for the 2010 World Cup.

The midfielder has a clause in his contract with LA Galaxy which would allow him to move to Milan in the winter transfer window of 2010 but is reported to believe this to be too late as he would be almost 35.

Beckham impressed by immediately integrating into the team.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has started Beckham in both of his side's Serie A matches this year where he impressed by immediately integrating into the team.

Beckham also won friends on Thursday when he visited former Milan striker Stefano Borgonovo, who is suffering from the paralyzing illness amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

"David has a golden heart," said Ancelotti. - Sapa

the only thing in Becks favour is that Gatusso is our for the season.

He form has been OK, but certainly not above average and at 33, I'm not sure he has too many years left.

At least he can see this is real football, unlike that pretend American league.

Bremen holds Milan to 1-1 draw in UEFA Cup

The Associated PressPublished: February 18, 2009

BREMEN, Germany: Diego scored late for Werder Bremen to draw with AC Milan 1-1 in the UEFA Cup round of 32 on Wednesday.

Filippo Inzaghi put Milan ahead after 36 minutes of the first-leg match. Diego equalized in the 84th.

David Beckham came off the bench in the 89th for Ronaldinho and Kaka did not even come to Bremen. The home team dominated the match but could not convert its majority of chances, while Milan relied on infrequent fast breaks. Gianluca Zambrotta hit the crossbar of his own goal with a clearance attempt in injury time and Claudio Pizarro drove the rebound over the goal.

Inzaghi scored after a poor clearance by Clemens Fritz. Mathieu Flamini picked off Fritz's attempt to find his midfielders, charged down the right side and crossed to Inzaghi. Inzaghi's header was blocked by Per Mertesacker but the ball fell back to Inzaghi and the striker slotted home.

Bremen had its best chance one minute into the game, when Diego's corner found Alexandros Tzolis unmarked. But his weak shot was collected by goalkeeper Dida.

The home team turned the pressure on in the first 15 minutes but had few more chances and Milan restored the balance, with Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese turning away a good shot by Flamini.

Bremen had more possession early in the second half, too, and Hugo Almeida sent a free kick wide, before Dida had to stretch to save from Diego. Almeida then connected with a header at the far post but sent it wide. On the other side, Inzaghi and Flamini tested Wiese from long range.

In the 66th, Inzaghi hit the post after a counterattack. Dida then fumbled another free kick by Almeida, but Milan's defense cleared.

Bremen finally notched the equalizer when Almeida headed down to Diego, who controlled the ball with his chest and put the ball in with his left foot.

they're having their worst year in sometime and are 10th in the bundesliga, 7 points adrift of a uefa cup spot

milan must have been quite poor.
