Can't see the point in replacing him for the sake of replacing him..

No 1st grade premierships in 22 years, leagues club losing money hand over fist, football members being treated like second class citizens... if that's what you think 'for the sake of replacing him' is then I shudder to think what you reckon a genuine replacement case would be. FMD, give yourself a triple.

POST 443. Great Post. In regards to your point 2). This is something that is actually taking place in regards to benchmarking. No we have not headhunted anyone like Point 2 suggests, but we have had alot of work done in areas regarding well run clubs even from different sporting arenas. It is an area that Terry Leabeater over a lengthy period of time and generously given alot of his time towards.

Your closing remarks from Terry are exactly what he did do. I'll give you guys the heads up about Terry. He can be very firm in his beliefs, but he does not talk sh*t. He says it how it is and he is straight up. Terry epitomises passion when you hear him speak about the club. Anybody who may believe that he could be a dumb footballer would be highly mistaken. The guy is actually very articulate, extremely professional in how he goes about things, a keen listener and always keen to learn more. He is also the kind of bloke that will stop at nothing to strive for better things and help out anyone that may be in trouble. A true gentleman.

Thanks for the response PF, am encouraged to hear about the diverse benchmarking being done, as well as Terry mentioning in the other thread that he has spoken to the gambling mob already.

Both Terry and yourself have impressed me on here and I just wish I could make it up there for the get together this weekend but can't on this occasion. Look forward to getting to have a chat another time when I can make it.

In the meantime keep up the good work.

Don't know anything about the bloke (Terry) to be honest.

Fitzy ran a trucking business, and went to the same school as me... that's enough to qualify him for the job at the time. (I don't know if it made him bright or just able to lift heavy fings.. ;-)
Bomber Peard told me that Denis was a key man in the rights of players when he first sought to get on to the Football Board. He has been in the position for over 30 years...you can't buy experience like that...
Can't see the point in replacing him for the sake of replacing him..How is he not doing his job as the Football Club CEO. I go along with the thoughts of blokes like Nathan Hindmarsh, Bomber Peard, Mick Cronin, Peter Wynn who have all come out in support of Fitzy..

I'll admit that 30 years experience is handy but it could also be deemed as pass one's use by date

so how did Fitzy get his first chance, and what were his qualifications

as I understand he had 2 qualifications

1. He played for the mighty Parra Marist, Parra Eels, NSW and Australia with distinction, passion and professionalism.

2. He sold spuds

If your answer is option 1, then there are quite a few other people who fit that qualification and so perhaps should be looked at as well, particularly the bit about playing for the Parra Eels.

But Twiz, some of those you speak of don't hold a tertiary qualification?? :?

Seriously.

Just taking the lead of everyone in this thread who are answering everyones questions ;-)
But this wasn't the old questions for 3P thread, or the thread about the 3P meetings - this was a discussion thread about ideas for the 3rd floor/club, which is why people other than Col wanted to discuss the ideas/questions put forward in your(s and others) posts.

a tertiary education gives you a bit of paper

that your mum can put in a frame

with a blue border around it - cos it matches the bit of material on your graduation gown
 The one on the wall at my mum's has a beige border, and so did the gown... ripped off, I'd have loved blue!

At the risk of seeming like I'm defending suity ( as if I would, he supports Newcastle), I think it's pretty obvious which corner Suity is in, but he is doing a pretty damn good job offering reasonably neutral opinions. He doesn't hide that he favours 3P (as do I) but asks toughquestions when they are needed.
In all honesty you seem to be disagreeing with the damn Magpie fan simply for the sake of disagreeing with 3P.

No Bart, but the thread did go off tangent and when people people did start firing questions around....including to Ovo. So if it's good to question Ovo in this thread, it's good to question the other mob. ;-)

Otherwise you mods can always move those posts. ;-)

There will be more get-togethers prior to the election. I'd say wait about another fortnight and then we will raise the issue again with what dates are people interested in for another one.

No worries. At this point in time, I know it won't be in the first half of February for the next one. There is a fair bit of other areas that the 3P group are working on right now. I'd say in about two weeks, we will bring the issue back up and leave it up to a vote again on what dates best suit people to attend. This Saturday, there may be a few less 3P people there due to the lower grades being played around that time. I know John Chidiac will be attending the games and talking with people out there. At this point, Terry, myself and Bob are confirmed for tomorrow, and will be again all starters for the next one whatever date that may end up being. Gotta go again. Talk to you all tonight.
