How do you get a season ticket that covers away games?

Excellent point Loudy...I was going to mention this on the Clubs Memberships thread.
Here in Melbourne you can apply for an afl membership (apparently there is now a huge waiting list) which covers about 40 games you can attend at Etihad Stadium and the MCG and also covers entry to the Nab cup games, trial games and 2 finals games. You have a choice in nominating a club of your choice where a percentage of the fees to to that club and you automatically become a member of that club, say for example Collingwood.
I think the cost of this ticket is approx $450 and concession approx $220.
Its excellent value (a friend of mine has one...she is also a Storm member)

The NRL could look at introducing a similar package to people who love to watch a lot of rugby league games and also makes them a member of the club they follow. They naturally would have to play around with this package as to the grounds that are based in NSW...it wouldn't be too hard!

full house at Kogarah today!! thats over 20,000. they had to turn hundreds of people away too. i reckon it was 70% Dragons fans. such an amazing sight to see the hill bathed in red and white. gave me literal goosebumps. such a great ground.

Watched that game and the atmosphere was electric.

Shame they had to turn people away...its not what rugby league needs now.
If the Warriors could add an extra 1,500 seats at their stadium, couldn't the Dragons do something similar at that ground too....

i applaud your positivity.

but 200 out of 4 million is a very small number.

now. lets move on with a realigned perspective.

200 turned away today! Tomorrow China! What is ET doing these days?

i told her to powder her nose because her pic is hot, lets not get carried away with what she may look like in real life....it was a composure slant thing, you would not understand.

you must be refering to SL. you are just a pawn, we all are. its what you make of it before you are squashed.

hey loudstrat why dont you get off your butt and find out things for yourself....its one of the reasons why you are so blinkered.

i dont wait to people to offer me, ask me, unless its rude, i take the initiative....i take what i want in life, i go get it....if i need info, i get it, if i need money, i make it....

no one gives me a thing, i make my own life experience.....you seem to leach off people. forgive the strong use of the word, but you need to change what you are doing.

just a tip, apart from that, carry on, you are doing well.

powder my nose. hahahahaa.

i find it hilarious people on this forum call me princess or imply im super girlie or something. if you met me in real life you would realise that is so far from the truth. but then again i'm sure none of you would say any of this crap to my face anyway.

MsStorm glad you appreciate the effort Dragons fans made today. at least you aren't completely bias and one eyed like alot of people on this forum.

No excuses. We haven't exactly set the competition alight thus far. But 11,000 for Parra's first home game is crap.

I was working and was unable to attend, but should be going in two weeks' time and I cannot wait.

Just for reference if it hasn't been posted

Parramatta v Canberra @ Parramatta - 2000-2009
2009 - R3 - 11,110
2008 - R13 - 10,195
2007 - R4 - 10,092
2006 - R9 - 10,146
2005 - R25 - 13,315
2003 - R5 - 11,081
2002 - R7 - 12,135
2001 - R19 - 13,303

So to be fair, it's the best crowd there for this clash since '05, and there's only 3 figures better than it in the last ten years.

It's not great but Saturday 7:30pm is hardly a crowd-pulling game when it's two bland teams like Parra and Canberra...

And we'd be bland - why? Because unlike your mob we don't cheat?

Two big reasons the crowd was poor:

(1) there is a [misguided] perception out there that Canberra are a nothing team; three of my mates, when asked if they were going to the match [all Eels fans], replied with, "Nah. It's just Canberra. It won't be a real game of footy." For the record, I disagree completely and think we were VERY lucky to scrape away with a win.

(2) Like any team, Parramatta has its bandwagoners. But we have a HUGE percentage of bandwagoners - my mates are a perfect example. They've said that they love the team but that "there is no point going to a game when the team is struggling." Personally, I'll go even more (commitments allowing) when we're struggling as, as a fan, I believe that's when the team needs me more.

The die-hard fans, such as the ones on this forum, are going to games. Things are tentative for many reasons, including those outlined above.

But I think anyone who criticises any teams' fan turn out is kidding themselves. Yes, fan turn outs are huge for the growth of the game. But it's Round 3 - crowds will get better as teams start to fight off their rust and play better footy. And that goes for every team, rugby league-mad town or not.

Ummm... you said it yourself...

While I suppose you're right about perception being misguided, the first 50-60 minutes of the game was dull as dishwater and the only time it sparked interest during that period was when Lyons or James stuffed up. The last 15 however was quite fun to watch

And WTF does the salary cap in 2002 have to do with the price of fish right now? Hell, what do the Bulldogs have to do with a Parra/Raiders game?

The remainder of your post - you mention bandwagoners - I would've thought that after winning last weekend you would've had a few.

Actually it is, one of (if not THE BIGGEST) public music poll in the world.

Over 600,000 individual voters each year I beleive.

Now thats a BIG sample.

Wow.

So Kings of Leon are the biggest band ever.

How many were at the gig? 600 000?

Aww does it make you feel better now that you have had a go at the eels fans? Does it make losing by 2 so much easier now?

It does actually. The fact 20-30 odd of the raiders army's finest out cheered 11k of home fans, from a losing side says a lot about our passion and committment. And even more about yours.
