Does anyone else think (and all you Dureau-haters please take those coloured glasses off for just a second) that this whole chopping and changing of the halves is unsettling for those involved?

Yes. but they'll be changed again next week.

Ha, Ha....the very point that concerned me about Smith from day one.

Well for christs sake mate, your sitting there continually going on about how great players play against the Newtown f*cking reserve grade team and somehow thinking people can apply that to first grade rugby league NRL level.

You do realise that Newtown were in the big GF for reserve grade last year don't you...and you also remember how bad our team was last year too?

And to other forum members, before everyone here starts going on about ' Karmawave ' on his ' Dureau agenda ', LOOK AROUND YOU, there's a growing number now starting to see the bloke's talent for what it is.

And those numbers are growing week to week. It's no longer the Karma solo show anymore.

You have been (knowingly or unknowingly) turning half the discussion in this forum since early 08 towards that topic through your constant efforts at bringing up your favourite topic. It reminds me of DMC vs BIHK and the Gidley vs Rudder wars all those years ago (wow it would be a good 5+ years ago now!) except we have you and a few others who partly agree with you vs the majority. Ooooh I now see two posts where you are trying to give the idea you have a growing group of supporters behind you - do you think many people care?

And now you're...actually I don't know what you're doing, trying to create more division by promoting the idea of separate groups on here? I dunno. Most of us share our opinions freely on here without banding into mobs who support each other. Whether you are right or wrong or otherwise, sometimes its just good to sit back and let things go, we know everyone elses opinion on this issue, and sometimes you aren't going to change people so you've just gotta leave it at that.

Rogers kicking game was very good yesterday, whilst Dureau's was largely poor.

The last kick option was not the smartest thing to do but it did not lose us the game. It just didn't put us in a position to win the game which comes from inexperience. I am sure if Mullo was on, this kick would not happend.

The knights lost because 17 players don't know how to keep their foot on the throat of their opponent for the full 80 minutes.

I still think it is a physical thing as we are fading away in most games even when we are winning.

Our best combination is Mullo/Rogers but I won't lose any sleep if Dureau is on because of injury.

Surely Gidley's chip kick on our own 10m with everyone else offside was the world's worst option.

The Dureau cross field kick has worked before and no one has had a whinge. FFS we did it against Melbourne last year on the first set of 6. It was definately worth a try. And what most people forget to mention is that it was pin point accurate to McManus. Yeah he didnt streak away for the try but we still retained the ball.

Rogers has definately been playing better then Dureau but I guess Scotty will get an 80 min chance next week.

Dureau being average aside, we lost because of the 5th tackle penalty McManus gifted them in the dieing stages of the game that subsequently led immediately to a try....

That for mine was the 'worst play' of the day....

I know nothing eh? WTF are you on about. Rogers does it when we're LEADING by 6. Dureau does it when we're LOSING by 2. You do the maths.
Rogers does it 40 metres out from our own line with a few minutes to go leading by 6. Worst case they get the ball back but they still have to make 60 metres in to the wind to score, and then worst case is we go to extra time. Not the greatest play in the world granted.

Dureau kicks across field on our own 20, one minute to go behind by 2. Absolute best case is Sau gets past 3 defenders waiting for him to catch the ball and score. Realistic result is we make 10 metres and get to the opposite side of the field and we are still 70 metres out with 5 tackles to go. Worst case is we hand the ball over to the Tigers who are 2 points in front and 30 metres out.

The risk/reward between the two plays are polar opposites. Rogers didn't get us in that much trouble. Dureau got lucky that Sau caught it and the Tigers didn't have a serious go at the ball in the air. How he could make that decision after seeing Naiqama make 70 metres up the middle of the field on one leg the set earlier is beyond belief. We made a tonne of metres up the middle all day and that was his attacking choice?

He is a one trick pony - he can kick and that is about it.

I can't believe anyone is giving it to Dureau. In hindsight it was a silly option, but hindsight is always 20-20. If he pulled it off he'd be labelled a genius... Rogers is just a flat out goose and his option put you guys in a dangerous position last week.

Dureau really doesn't deserve the flack, he gave his guts and unfortunately that percentage play didn't work.

And nothing, and noone could've stopped Benji. We will though :sarcasm:

That was a bloody crock of a penalty and never should have been blown. Jimmy did not play at the ball, not his fault.

I made the post primarily based on last week's bagging of Rogers for that kick which in the context of the entire game he did not deserve. For the most of it Rogers played very well, which he did again this week. However the Dureau fans here insisted that Rogers was rubbish and that essentially he had Scotty's spot.

The post was meant to highlight that both players make risky plays, however you have to look at the level of risk in the context of the game:

* Rogers we were in front and worst case we were handing the ball over in reasonable field position;

* Dureau's we might as well run the ball up 10 metres and taken the tackle because that is effectively the result we got - however there were a tonne of variables in his risky play that could have gone wrong.

Unfortunately the Dureau fans can't see my point...

And they never will.

Dureau now will have the chance this week to show us all he is a first grade halfback.

The team is his and his alone!

Should be fun to watch. ;-)

Are we talking about the kick with about 3 minutes to go ? If so, that was a great kick.

The worst kick was Gidleys. No chance of that working.

But desperate times...

Good unbias opinion, Dean.

I can't understand so much whinging about a kick that came off.

But don't forget - Rogers one last week (which didn't come off I might add) was a f**king wonderful piece of rugby league ...
