you know exactly what he meant you gronk.

yes, everybody knows manly won last year. no, nobody cares

That's a pretty bold and moronic statement to be honest.

Nobody cares. I'm a Manly fan, I know I care. Do any other Manly fans care? I'd say it's a safe bet. I think The Melbourne fans might care, so to the Dragons and Warriors fans who were hoping to win only to be quashed by Manly.

While I agree it's okay to label them Premiership contenders, despite the obvious that they won last year, you still shouldn't make such an outlandish and foolish statement.

Would like to see the semi, or was it pre-lim? between Dogs and Para. Hallighan booted a conversion from the sideline after the bell to send it into extra time. The one were Carriage had his spectacular brain snaps.

BUMP

I've really been enjoying this presentation despite it's inability to broadcast the full game. The Cowboys/Bulldogs clash was a nice study of contrast while the game tonight brought back some painful memories.

Of course I'm refering to the infamous Broncos/Dragons 03 clash at Suncorp where Riddell played the game of a lifetime to secure St. George a stunning 1 point upset. Looking back it was interesting to note how much each club has changed since that night and how the game itself has changed.

As a Broncos fan I took certain delight watching Lockyer play at fullback. He was as classy as ever and while he's certainly improved as a ball player it's a shame the game hasn't been able to see his wonderful running game since his move to five eigth.

I was also surprised by Stuart Kelly, I thought for sure the guy was one of the biggest nuffies in Brisbane history up there alongside Kaine Manihera and Reece Robinson but if anything he put in a very solid performance alongside De Vere.

The biggest dissapointment had to be Gorden Tallis, you could tell by 03 the game was passing him by and he was far from the dominant force he had once been. I also couldn't believe how poor Richard Swain was...my goodness he was poor.

The referee had a pretty interesting night coming up with a few howlers. My "favourite" had to be his decision to call play on despite Stuart Kelly being clearly dragged into touch by Timmins. What I found hilarious was the sideline official was right next to Kelly as it happened but refused to make a call.

I didn't enjoy Civoniceiva being sin binned...or Frawley being denied a fair try never the less I thought it'd be a good idea to bump this thread up to implore discussion of the games and invite supporters to share their memories of the particular matches/players and what they've recalled thanks to the replay.

Round, 1999

Former Tigers forward Anthony Laffranchi returned to Campbelltown with the NRL's newest team, who were on track to for a top-eight finish. The home side, meanwhile, had overcome the loss of Benji Marshall and Brett Hodgson to win seven from eight.

The Canberra-Newcastle game musta been Finch's game from hell...my memory is sketchy, but this musta been the game where he tried to be a hero in the last minute, but kicked out on the full from a dropout, gifting the Knights the win!!

It just shows you what a great job Hasler has done to develop them into premiership contenders.

Considering they currently have possession of the big paperweigh and the record for biggest winning margin in a GF, I think they've gone a bit beyond contenders.
