This week's choices at foxsports.com.au
Remember, if you really want to see a game, you can vote multiple times by clearing the cache.....:)
:
Sydney Roosters V Newcastle Knights
Finals week three, 2000
Newcastle fans' favourite Matthew Johns was playing his last season for the Knights due to salary cap-based decisions. With a place in the grand final up for grabs, could brother Andrew win the battle of the superstars as he took on Roosters skipper Brad Fittler?

Canberra v Warriors
Finals week two, 2003

Would revenge provide extra motivation for the Raiders as they confronted the side that eliminated them in 2002? The enforcer of the Canberra pack was Ruben Wiki, who would relish the challenge of Warriors hard men such as Monty Betham and Richard Villasanti.

Bulldogs v St George Illawarra
Finals week one, 2001

These fierce rivals whet the appetites for a classic finals encounter a week earlier, when the Bulldogs prevailed by two points in a thriller. Despite that loss, the Dragons enjoyed a huge win in the lead-up when playmaker Trent Barrett was controversially cleared on appeal by the judiciary.

I concur, that Raiders v Warriors game had one of the most epic forward battles I can remember. Massive, massive forward packs in a year where play the balls were faster than ever. Is that Roosters/Knights game the one where Johns throws his mouthguard?

While I'd love to see the Raiders vs Warriors match again, I get a feeling that the Roosters vs Knights match will win out, and probably rightly so as it was a great match. To see Andrew Johns so confident at half time only to go down, and the mouthgard throwing that followed... bliss!

Or am I thinking of the wrong game?

Plus, I don't think I could handle seeing Bulgarelli drop the ball over the line again.

f**k... why do all the canberra games have to be heartbreakers that i dont want want to remember

first they put up the game where Finch kicked it out on the full to hand the knights victory and now they are putting up the game Bulgarelli dropped our premiership hopes
Arseholes. Thats years of councilling undone.

Could be worse.... you could be an Eels fan and see them schedule repeats of 1998,1999, 2001, 2005...... :|

Personally I'd love to see the Roosters/Knights clash for nostalgic purposes. Being the son of a Roosters supporter I still can't forget how much we celebrated the win that night.

Then came Broncos/Roosters and the house was divided. :)

I think I sat at the SFS, numb, for about an hour after that game.

That was our year, our best ever team. We would have beaten the broncos.

I couldn't watch it again.

I'm just glad the Knights backed it up the year afterwards and knocked Easts out of the finals on their way. If they had only that '97 title to their name, I think I would avoid the 2000 semi like the plague.

The Broncos played quite unspectacular, clinical football. They could have been beaten by a team who threw the ball around and had lots of flash like the Warriors in 2002-03 or the Tigers in 2005, but with the discipline to be miserly in the error count.

The Broncos played exactly like Melbourne did in 2007, always did enough to win with the superstars they had. They'd rise when neccesary so to say Newcastle were going to win a premiership as if it was a sure thing is comical macavity.

Then again, on Grand Final day the Broncos didn't play top notch and should have won by more, the Roosters played as if their Grand Final was the weekend before. Of course, nobody knew at the time that watching the Roosters lose Grand Finals was to become a common sight over the next 9 years!

Broncos never got out of second gear (they didn't have to) - made for one of the worst grand finals in the history of the game.

Highlight of that match was the drunken Broncos fan running onto the field and nicking the corner post just on full-time!

Having watched the Grand Final every year since 1999, I'd say most of them as contests weren't majorly exciting (2000, 2001, 2007, 2008). The most exciting of the lot was probably 2004 when the Bulldogs hung on. The most exciting team to watch were the 2005 Wests Tigers. It was like watching an 80 minute long World 7's match!

Hence why they are undefeated in GFs. Take a look at the total number of points scored against them in the 6 GFs. No team has scored more than 2 tries against them in a GF

I was at that game too. Matty Johns and Butterfield's last game for the Knights?

I remember a soft penalty for an incorrect play-the-ball (was it butterfield?) that changed the momentum of the game. The Rooters scored next set I think. I recall pointing that out to the people I was at the game with.
