But its ok for the owners to throw their well earned money down the shoot, to the tune of about $6mill over the past two years?
This is what I don't understand with a lot of you nay sayers.
Rusty and PHaC have come along and spent a swag of money to keep the club afloat. A club that would have been gone had it not been for them.
The naysayers come out and bag them because the club is not making a profit. They say things like "the club is supposed to be run professionally" and "we were told that the club would turn a profit"
Then of course, the minute the club starts to turn a profit... "I would hate for the clubs profit to go into the owners bank accounts".
For anyone who is unaware...
South Sydney is now a predominately privately owned entity.
The vast MAJORITY of its members voted for it to go this way.
As such, it is now being run like a business and the owners are entitled to a share of its profits.
If this had not have happened, the club would not exist in the year 2010.
If you don't like this set of circumstances then f**k off and follow another team.
I for one am sick to death of people deathriding our owners because they are trying to make a profit. Personally, I hope they make millions per year out of the whole situation because that will mean that the club is very successful. As for how they spend that money and whether some of it goes back to the club... We have forgone the right to have a say in that when we voted yes. We voted yes because we had confidence that Rusty and PHaC would look after the place and nothing I have seen in the past few years suggests that this is not the case.
