Ex admits giving drugs to Knights star
Posted July 7, 2010 15:22:00

The ex-girlfriend of former NRL player Danny Wicks has pleaded guilty to supplying him with drugs just hours after the Newcastle Knights crashed out of the 2009 season.

Emma Kate Frankham, 23, appeared briefly in Newcastle Local Court today, where she changed her plea to guilty of one count of supplying a prohibited drug.

Police say she supplied the former Knights player with 30 ecstasy tablets in Mayfield last September, several hours after the Bulldogs ended the Knights' 2009 campaign.

Wicks is facing six charges of supplying speed and ecstasy and two charges of drug possession. He quit the Knights after being charged in December.

His brother, sister-in-law and former team mate Chris Houston have also been charged.

Their matters have been adjourned for three weeks.

Sentencing proceedings start for Frankham on July 29.

3 weeks to go, huh? Let's hope that it coincides with Melbourne's forensic accountant investigation to take some of the focus off our club.

The best thing the club can hope for is that wicks and Houston change their pleas and this may keep some of the nastier details out of the media.

Otherwise I am thinking B1 and B2 will be on the money

I sincerely apologise to all adult Batman fans (Adam West FTW) that are upset with the above comment.

Pure speculation, good tabloid fodder and not much else.

Unless Wicks and Houston chose to name names, and the police can prove a crime, then its a dead end, simple.

It won't be speculation when Wicks' case is played out in court. Players on the taps may well be made public and I don't think they were ringing Danny boy for a surf report.
