THE Parramatta Eels have sacked coach Daniel Anderson at an emergency board meeting tonight.

The meeting - originally scheduled for Tuesday night - was brought forward 48 hours after news of his likely dismal was leaked to the media over the weekend.

Parramatta is expected to issue a statement shortly to confirm his sacking and will begin negotiations shortly to sign Melbourne Storm's assistant coach Stephen Kearney.

His sacking follows an internal review conducted by CEO Paul Osborne and board members Geoff Gerard and Glen Duncan, who is also chief executive of the club's major sponsor Pirtek.

Duncan earlier broke from boardroom protocol to reveal his opinion that Anderson should be replaced by Kiwi coach Stephen Kearney.

"I think the position is untenable for Daniel to stay," Duncan said. "Daniel's a good guy. I think he's had a hard time, but sometimes you've got to make these decisions for the club to move forward."

Anderson has been at the helm of the Eels for just two seasons. After being brought back to Australia from coaching St Helens in England last year, Anderson took Parramatta to the grand final.

This year the Eels finished 12th.

Chalk one up to the blokes in black.
That's me GONE too.
Good luck to the supporters who are prepared to take this kind of sh*t being dished out by a Board supposed to be in it for the betterment.
For once, I agree with Ray Hadley...Bloody shonky Club being run by amateurs.

The club can get f**ked. I hope with all my heart we win the wooden spoon to show these idiot committe they made a massive mistake. I want kearney to have the exact squad that ando did & not sign 1 half back & see what these wankers think anyone else can do.

The usual excuses will come out saying he didnt have his team & its the players. I am physically ill to what our club is doing.

Terrible decision, we're gonna struggle now because of a stupid decision.

Just when I thought our club can move forward with new board members and a new coach, we've gotten worse.

Why sack a coach who took us the GF and missed out this year cause our players need a kick up the @rse? We're gonna start from square 1 and rebuild the club once again and probably struggle.

This is very un professional from Parramatta and Im ashamed of his decision.

We are the new Souths. Disappointing to say the least. So what happens now with Hayne and Hindmarsh coming out in the media already saying that they expect Anderson to be coach next year?

I agree this isnt the way to treat a coach but at the end of the day the board and CEO will live by the sword and die by the sword. If this doesnt come off then they will all be sacked from A to Z.

This will not effect my following of parramatta, while im not a ticketed member (im a non-ticketed member) I intented to buy a season ticket next year and still do. Parramatta is more then one player, one coach, one CEO or one board member, i support a team not any one person. While I agree Anderson is a good coach maybe he was doomed from the start and its easier to move on, this could be the right move or it may very well not be.

The Club lost so many good men at the clean out. The supporters are starting to pay now for that clean out.
Oh for the days when decent people like Jack Boyle, Billy Rayner, Stan Simpson sat on the board.
Everybody knew them to be men of integrity, people who would honor commitments. People supporters could be, and were proud to have representing their views.
They were REAL people who didn't have to tell anyone that they had Pride, Passion and Performance as their 'catch cry'. They demonstrated it EVERY day, by the way they conducted themselves in day to day lives.

You know what sucks is Parra supporters who are ready to ditch our team. Would not want to fight in the trenches with weak little bitches like some people on here. Grow some balls and move on.
