just watching Canterbury V Taranaki.

how good are these two... last week they were devastating V Northland and this week theve just kept going.

its still early days... and im not saying there good enough to be the first choice All Black midfield as Ma'a & Conrad Smith are imo the best midfield in world rugby...

but jezz... throw in Kahui, Stanley, Ranger, Toeava, McAlister etc... weve got some depth in the midfield at the moment....

the Crusaiders V Hurricanes next season will be really interesting...

Tho they have been shut down a bit in the second half... problem i see is that SBW wont hang around after the world cup... can see him buggering off back to france for the money... Fruen is the future, provided his heart holds out... when he was up here in welly the docs said there was a tiny chance he could drop dead on the field... hopefully he has recovered enough... and fancy that .. The naki won!

yeah i agree on SBW.... hes here for the RWC exposure... it will add to his value no doubt..

but yeah Fruen is the future... hopefully his ticker can keep going...

he made a good choice by leaving wellington... a tough choice... from what ive heard hes a Welly boy hard.... but with Nonu & Smith in the midfield he wasnt going to get much chances at super level.

even when SBW leaves.... theres a heap of talent out there... infact... i see Aaron Cruden as a 2nd five... i think thats where his long term future is...

weve got some super talent coming through though... Cruden, Slade, Fruen, Maitland, Savea, Crotty & Robbie Robinson down in southland...

this ITM Cup/Currie Cup is exactly why Australia will always be behind SA & NZ. they may have the odd flukey period where the wannabies do well on the pitch... but in the long run they are always behind the other 2.

No one seems to be able to stop the trademark SBW offload, I mean the guy lost his dignity but its good that he atleast kept his offloading ability

i think RU suits his offloads more than RL... in RL if the offload is not on the expectation is for him to hold on to the ball and take the tackle... in RU theres a contest when he goes in to contact so hes really encouraged to offload the ball to keep the play alive.

Mate that would be awesome, he'd get a lot more opportunity in league, there's so much depth in NZ rugby union

It's trite to say it, but SBW is, was, and always will be a freak. Size, speed, ball skills, vision, footwork, ridiculously long arms, and just all round good game-sense and workrate.

Pretty hard to stop because one on one he will run through or over you, so teams commit two or more defenders to him and he offloads to the open man. Shame to see him using his skills in Rugby though. Would have been great to see him destroying England and Australia at the Four Nations.

Nice player when you are doing well, just don't rely on him too heavily coz when the going gets tough he's a quitter, more than happy to bail on his teammates when they need him most

SBW is getting better each week,
great strength in the tackle, altho i cant see him beating anyone with a side step or from speed, which is why he'd be good in the centres. Altho he is playing ITM cup, in an international the offloads wont always stick and it could cost us a game, however from what i've seen him and fruen should be the packup centre pairing to conrad and nonu, what depth that is!!!!

All that came out was that after the World Cup the Warriors would look at signing some players and Dean Bell mentioned that Ranger looked like a League player playing Union. Also I'm pretty sure Ranger resigned with Northland for a couple of seasons recently.

if ranger is in the all blacks set up, he wont transfer to league, even if he wasn't in ABs, he'd get a massive contract OS.

watching SBW in last nights Shield win over Southland. If/when he makes the AB's (should get in for the UK tour with McCallister out ?) the media worldwide will make the guy bigger than Jonah....
