Haters gonna hate. Bon Jovi are awesome. The song ain't though. Still, whatever, just an ad campaign.

I gotta feeling - black eyed peas
Perfect sporting anthem. "I gotta feeling that tonight's gunna be a good night".... Perfect kind of song to sell Friday Night footy.
OR

Dynamite-Taio Cruz
I could really see a package of footy highlights and some shots of some of the star players going really well with either of those two songs. Both would make an awesome ad.

My generation (gen y) is the future. Gen y is the greatest generation. Gen y is part of the target market that the NRL aims for with marketing. And I as a voice of my generation thinks those 2 would be perfect.

My ultimate NRL ad is ...

The song ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-58-36lSqG4
Rage Against the Machine - Bulls on Parade ...get a bit of wah-wah up ya :D

And have heaps of footage showing huge forwards crashing into each other plus lots of big hits in defence too.

If you can afford Jon Bon pumpkin pants then you can afford RATM.

Pretty much agree. You're not going to find that song on my iPod, but I think it will probably go alright for an ad campaign.

Its a much better choice than a lot of the other songs mentioned in this thread, even though I personally prefer those songs.

But .. "This is our house" - f*ck off AFL! That has to warm your heart up even if you don't like Bon Jovi :D

When reading this thread (and this forum in general) I'm reminded of the old saying "if you try to please everyone, you'll end up failing".

Seriously, have you clowns that are complaining got any idea how ridiculous you all are? Watch the episode of The Simpsons where they go to the kids at the school to design the ultimate toy and they ask for sh*t like "destructive yet cuddly" - that's honestly what you lot would be like if you got to pick anything to do with our great game.

This song will work, the ad will hit the target they need to hit (which isn't you lot in case you're wondering - it'd almost certainly be kids and women).

Here here!

Some absolute sooks on here.

I think its a great choice.

I have just turned on the TV and the morning shows are already talking about it.

The song choice is already doing its job by promoting the NRL.

The more RL on TV the better.

Well done NRL.

Bon jovi is probably one of the biggest turd sandwiches of all time but agree with those who say it will appeal to the mainstream spastic audience

Everyone on this forum commenting on it is way too close to it.

What we as people who already passionately & closely follow the game need to remember, is that this ad isn't designed for us. We already love the game. It's to get the average person on the street who doesn't follow it all that closely. Getting a big name and a catchy tune, whether you like it or not, is going to draw attention.

The NRL have actually got it right here, irrespective of anyone's opinion on Bon Jovi.

Spot on Big man.

For the record i think its a great sporting anthem and will serve our game well, esp in the West.

Well you are the biggest turd sandwich of all time, moffo, so I consider you qualified to make such a judgement.

And  @ skeepe  @ anybody else.

People deathriding it before we've even seen the ads is a bit lame....

Let's face it, if the ad is 30 seconds of watching Willy Mason drool with the Bon Jovi song playing over the top, it'll still be better than Blow that whistle ref...
