The Tinkler thread

Well, I did like him ... until he threatened to take his bat and ball and go home if the deal's not done by [insert date here].
To be fair JD this has been going on since 19 January, if you were a business man wouldnt you want things finalised by now.

One only has to look at the GPT debacle with Newcastle council and the State government, we (Newcastle council) stuffed around with that one and what happened, the golden egg (GPT ) decided that they had been stuffed around enough and pulled stumps.

If Tinkler does pull out then I think that the Knights existence in the NRL is very shaky seeing as we have run on the smell of an oily rag since day dot.

If you can finalise the documentation for a complex $100 million deal in a month, you should be a lawyer - you could charge $10,000 an hour.

Completely unrealistic expectations.

Particularly with the goalpost shifting TSG are engaging in.

I want this to go through as much as any Knights supporter - but FFS this is not boding well.

So, how long would you, as a businessman wait then Mac.???

Wouldnt you want things finalized ASAP. I know I would

Everyone wants things finalised ASAP.

But things take time.

Complex things take a lot of time.

They take even more time when the people who originally put the deal try to move the goalposts.

Think about how complex this deal is. This isn't a straight sale - there are all sorts of conditions involved - conditions that there are very few precedents for.

Will you just take it from me that these things don't happen overnight - and when there is conflict, they very rarely happen in a month.

If Tinkler wants it done NOW, and he is acting in good faith, he can stop arguing with the guys trying to protect our club, and he can get it done.

Threatening to take your bat and ball and go home is not acting in good faith.

Very interesting week ahead.

I must admit it seems Tew and Burro are dragging their feet a bit..

I also have some sypathy with the idea that complex dealings take time and time must be expected to get things just right..

But I just get the feeling that the two above are not very much in favour of the privatisation going ahead..

Big business men can be quite fickle.

They can be really hot over an idea and then go stone cold on it.

Ego plays a massive part of it.

I hope he goes stone cold on the idea of owning Newcastle and the shyte head Newcastle supporters that have been prancing around on our forum all cocky get the massive reality check that's been coming to them.

Says the man that thinks that 3 clubs can win 1 grandfinal, says the man that thinks a club that didn't even compete in the last 12 years can win a premiership.

Your full of gold Dave!

It's a dumb question MC..

90% are of the opinion that Tew and Burro are not embracing this offer as enthusiastically as they should..

It's likely to get a overwhelming vote from members and in general the wider public and the media plus McKay are in favour, so why buggerise around...??

There's been enough time to nut down the finer points of the offer FFS, so why are they still dragging their feet..

Your question Macavity is stupider than their reticence..

Are you serious....McKay is in favour so lets just do it????

McKay is part of a horrible cancer known as NSW Labor,,, the fact she is in favour would good enough reason to run.

For the record, I will vote because I can and I will vote in favour however, I expect the deal to be water tight thats what Tew and Burraston are entrusted to do...

Don't have any business experience at all do you Coastbloke...

90% of people think they are going too slow because 90% of people do not get what is involved in the process of Due Diligence.

Look into it some and get a clue.
