Coaching saga

Ok so I think the whole "will he" or "won't he" stay is starting to get a bit annoying. The more the media jump on it the more rumours start and the more unwanted pressure and attention the dragons will get. I think it will be very difficult for the players not to get distracted. If Wayne decides to move on, Boyd will go and others may leave as well. This will all be announced in the middle of a premiership defence.
It does seem as though there aren't any "suitable" replacements on the market. This is a fairly big issue hanging over the club. If steve price gets the job it will be by default. And that can't be a good thing. Not only will this anger most fans but I think it would be a terrible decision for the club.
But we need an announcement now so everyone can come to terms with the outcome and we can plan. Not just from a coaching point of view but also for our playing roster. If we are to lose players, we should be now looking for new players. Adam Blair is off contract for example... The longer this drags on the less chance we have to plan for next year and beyond. We don't want another "rebuilding" phase. We want a bloody dynasty where we are contantly near the top 4. Anyway, c'mon wayne... Cmon dousty, let's get something done.

Finally, all these secret meetings can't be pleasing Wayne.. Particularly when it's with the likes of Gould. Wayne and phil aren't the best of friends. I would have thought Wayne himself may be the best person to ask.

Can't agree... It's definitely a saga. It's all over the radio, papers etc. Perhaps it's a media saga, but when Gould gets mentioned as coach it's fair to say it's reahed "saga" proportions.

I really don’t think it’s a saga to the people in the know.
I think the players know, I think Doust knows, I think Bennett knows what he is going to do.
I think the inner sanctum know what Bennett has decided to do.
I think the reason they have not announced it is because they have no one lined up to takeover.
I hate to say it or think it but.... Bennett will go back to home. :(:(:x

2008 he made his decision on april 1

I always expected it to be the same this year, If there is no decision made

The longer there is no decision i think the better it is for the dragons chances

The sooner Wayne inevitably announces he's leaving the sooner St Merge will return to mediocrity and the happier everyone will be. Well of course you lot won't be but nobody cares about that, in fact it'll only be a bonus. Lets just call the bennett era and more so last season an anomoly and we'll get back to enjoying the Stains typical under achieving and choking ways that we've all become accustomed to in their short history.

You know it's gonna happen, the Saint's will once again become the aint's. Don't fight it.

Just in time to make another Sunday editorial.

Wayne came here with a job to do and he did it. He made it in his 2nd year and in all honesty I dont think too many people thought he would. He found the club in good shape and when he leaves it will be in even better shape. He cannot do any more than that.

All clubs would be rapt to have won what we have in a year and still have a chance at making it a double under the guidance of the coach who got us there. Here we are sitting on the top of the pile and people are demanding decisions.

Lets just fasten the seatbelts, wave to the loosers and just enjoy whats left of the ride while we still can. When I read all the different articles about former players and coaches that still phone him and seek his advice long after their tenure under his care has officially expired I cant imagine him turning his back on the club even if he does leave.

I feel he will always be there to offer advice to the players if they choose to ask.

Bennett's legacy will be felt for a lot longer after he is gone than for the time he was here.

^^ This.

Bennett has the team's interest at heart. He knows what he's doing. Doust knows. The players know. I think they're all laughing their guts out at the media feeding frenzy.
