Honestly..this would be the best move for Sandow, he needs mentoring from someone like Alfie.

Souths signed the wrong player.

P.S ya never getting Foran, Manly picked him over Hodkinson. They signed him last year and Des will keep there as our key long term prospect.

Agreed ........Sutton's one of the first I would let go.

Laziest player in the NRL.

The hapless Bunnies have bet on the wrong horse with that decision.

Mind you the Bunnies spending big dollars on a Centre (as much as Inglis can be good), money better spent on a 5/8 even a junior.
(Beau Champion got the best deal he could find himself in a finals series, unlikely at the bunnies)

They have a well bought forward pack and could have a built around that 2 years ago.

I always felt Sandow lack direction at times in the opposition 20, but more and more I think its Sutton confusing the young half, forcing him to make poor choices.

If he was to go to the Bronc's, I'm sure they'll pull a capable 5/8 from somewhere. Everway, he'll do better anywhere but Souths.

Alright, the Sharkies looked pretty f**ken horrible in the 2nd half tonight.

But Chris Sandow ........?

That 2nd try of his near the sticks..........looked a hell of lot like Alfie to me

Maybe Wallace at 5/8 and Sandow at half could be just the right combo to get over the post Locky blues

He is in desperate need of a quality coach getting in his ear and teaching him how a half plays for his team and not just for himself. I think he'd do well under Griffin.........

Sandow did have another good game tonight. But I guess need to forget the option entirely as Broncs said not chasing him.

Mr 4X, whilst being a little harsh on Wallace, does have a point. There is no argument that Wallace could play to his full potential last year given his injuries. But clearly some people just should not play injured, as it can be detrimental to your side. Take Gardner playing for the sharkies tonight, it didn't help him or the team. Someone like Thaiday is still good enough even though injured. Needs to be assessed on a case by case basis.

Yes Wallace is going better this year, but I'm thinking ahead to when Lockyer retires. Would Hunt/Wallace or Wallace/Norman combo cut it at NRL level? That's what has me concerned.

Thaiday's injury is different. To my knowledge that injury doesn't hurt during a game, but after and the next few days.

As for the future ... I'm just enjoying being on the top of the ladder right now. Next year will take care of itself. Is that a naive view of things? Yes, but I'll enjoy the ride more than the whingers who look at every game with anti-Wallace glasses fogging the screen.

If you are referring to me or others unlike you, that don't stick Peter Wallace posters on our bed room walls........

You're wrong.

If he had of showed just the remotest bit of spark like Sandow showed last night in his ability with the ball then I'd be the first one buying him a beer at the bar.

It didn't go unnoticed last night that our attack is still limited.........

He is a very different player to Sandow. I quite like the way he plays. Much more solid, his kicking game is currently on par, if not better (just talking this year - last year didn't happen...) . His kick chase is phenomenal for an 80 minute player. You don't see many players who end up tackling off their own kick as often as he does. There is no need to replace him now but pairing his with Hunt/Norman will not be good. Neither of those guys are the solution to this problem...

Name a team in the competion that has 'unlimited' attack.

Name a halfback in the competition that is dominant in even 70% of games. OK, maybe Thurston, but lest we forget, NQ have finished in the bottom half of the ladder for the last few seasons, so 'dominant' halfbacks are over-rated.

Peter Wallace is a team player, playing a role within a good team. And guess what ... it's working. (The same applies to Cronk who is hardly has an outstanding running game).

As IBA alludes to, its the solid, unfancy, unheralded stuff that Peter Wallace does week in week out that would gain him cred from his coach.

You're raising the bar too high. I'd settle with Wallace dominating 20% of games TBH..........

He hasn't "dominated" a game for a LONG time

I definately read and heard that we weren't interested in Sandow and for good reason. That is we're confident in those players we've got on board already. Wallace, Hunt and Frisby.

Bring him on. Number 7 would make an okay 5/8th but under-20s number 6 should get first crack. After he puts on fifteen kegs or so.

Let number 7 go to Parra or GC, let number 14 go or put him at halfback. He's worse than useless at hooker.

Wallace hasn't dominated and yet we are leading the competition? Interesting.

In reality, only the Broncos throwing $450,000 a year at either Thurston or Cronk will satisfy the anti-Wallace faction. The problem with that solution ... they'll be attempting to put nuffies through gaps and putting up bombs for 18 year olds because there won't be enough under the salary cap for any quality talent.

20% .....1/5 he plays a starring role in the teams performance. Yeah?

1. Thurston
2. Cronk
3. Prince
4. Mullen
5. Sandow
6. Pearce
7. Walsh

and are you seriously suggesting that Wallace has been dominating games and that is the reason we are leading the comp?

Please.......:sarcasm:

This is getting ridiculous.

He's been playing solid. The teams been playing solid.

Our defence is fantastic.........and that's what's been winning us games

You should stop. Your emotional attachment to Wallace has you posting utter garbage

Your not Peter Wallace are you?

If you are,

let me be the 1st to say, "Peter.......the players you have outside you are NOT "nuffies".

Give them the ball FFS and they may surprise you.........."

No ... I'm merely suggesting that pinning all hopes on the halfback in a team is naive. Probably worked in the 70s, but the game is a lot more sophisticated today ... much more of a team game. Hence St George won the premiership with Hornby at half. Brisbane won a comp with Shane Perry.

Don't you think it ironic that most of the teams for which your "dominant" halfbacks play have struggled this year? Five of the seven teams have struggled. And as mentioned one of the other teams (North Queensland) have underperformed for the past four seasons. Interesting.

Since when is talking financial reality (have you heard of the salary cap?) an emotional argument?

I totally agree with you on one point - it's getting ridiculous. Fans attacking a well performing player who is playing a vital role in a winning team. Ridiculous.

We're not just talking about a halfback in reference to next year. We are talking about a playmaker.

Surely even you with your Peter Wallace coloured glasses on will admit that Peter struggles in his attempts to fill that role.

re: the salary cap issue, which now appears to be your latest reason for keeping Wallace Vs looking for another playmaker. Remember Lockyer will be freeing up enough money for a J.T/Cronk type player..........Not sure where Hodgo's contract is at, but you would have to think he will be on similar money or a tad less to finish his career with us.

We could afford to buy a name palyer IMO..........

Pete could still be there.......I'm serious about seeing how he'd go at hooker.

Corey Norman .......the big question for me. Can he bulk up, work on his defence and become a regular 1st grade NRL player

.....in the future?

I was one of the most critical fans in relation to Wallaces' performances last year. The were so consistently awful it was very hard to watch. However this year he has been much improved. He defense is the best of any halfback that for sure. He is taking on the line a lot more and sooner or later he will start to open up our oponents. I hope he proves me right but I feel he deserves some credit for his season so far. GO THE MIGHTY BRONCOS BY THE WAY.
