NBA Draft Lottery

Lol trading away a pick that becomes a lottery spot is such an Indy thing.

The Cavs have a great rebuilding chance here they can't screw it up. Big Mick's mock is about right and if the Cavs go that and can find a scorer they're playoff bound

They can try and trade the Wizards for Nick Young maybe.

Or try and get another pure shooter.....

Theres zero chance Williams will fall to #4 though.

Good on the Cavs - not sure who they should take first but with picks one and four they should come out reasonably ok.

Well I dunno.

I don't think the T-Wolves will take him. They have Johnson, Beasley...they may and it'd be good for them...but I doubt it. I think they would see Canter as more of an upgrade to Darko than Williams as an upgrade over Beasley.

Then with the Jazz, they have Hayward & Kirilenko at SF, whereas they have Ronnie Price, Earl Watson & Devon Harris at PG. Hayward played really well towards the end of the year, & Devon Harris imo aint that good. IMO again the difference between Williams and Hayward & Kirilenko isn't as big as the difference between Brandon Knight and Harris/Price. They'd improve their depth at the PG position, and allow him to develop behind Harris.

So I can definitely see Williams going to Cav's at #4. Wouldn't be shocked to see him go sooner...but defintely wouldn't say its "Zero Chance"... maybe in a trade or something...but I dunno. I can see it happening.

Theres already some rumours of Minnesota being willing to trade the pick for veteran help. I cant see Williams falling lower than 3 in any circumstances. Just my opinion though.

UTAH Options:
1. If T-Wolves take Canter & They take Williams:
PG - Harris, SG - Hayward, SF - Williams, PF - Millsap, C - Jefferson
PG - Price, SG - Bell, SF - Kirilenko, PF - Favors, C - Okur
Plus I see them maybe getting Jimmer Fredette maybe later in the first round anyway...so can go SF.

2. They take Canter & Jazz take Brandon Knight
PG - Knight, SG - Bell, SF - Hayward, PF - Millsap, C - Jefferson
PG - Harris, SG - Miles, SF - Kirilenko, PF - Favors, C - Okurs

Neither, but you can't really say my scenario is Zero chance but...kinda makes sense.

But making sense never happens in the draft! haha.

Alternative Mock:

1 - Cavs - Irving
2 - T-Wolves - Williams
3 - Utah - Knight
4 - Cavs - Enes Canter (Then trade Varejao for a SF/SG)
5 - Raptors - Walker

OR
4 - Cavs - Walker - converting him to a SG & not a PG - I don't think he is a pure PG anyway
5 - Raptors - Canter

This is true.

Enough draft, back to the game, both Dirk and Durant perfect on the offensive end through 1.5 quarters.

No way Jazz pass up Williams if he falls to 3 - AK plays his best ball at the four spot and Hayward can't hang with bigger and quicker 3s. They would take about 0.000001 seconds to say his name on draft night if he's still there.

I see the Cavs grabbing Irving first, Wolves taking Williams (at worst they would have a formidable small-ball line-up of K-Love, Beas & Williams to run and gun) and then Knight / Kanter to the Jazz and Kanter / Leonard (if Kanter is gone) to the Cavs.

He's 6'1 - who the hell is he guarding at the two spot?!

Well a combo guard then. I didn't say it was a great idea...its an alternative mock...get it...alternative?

I just don't rate him as a pure PG.

The only spot I can see any use for him would be a SG...despite his height.

And as for defense...there are plenty of Combo guards that can't play Def in the league.

As far as I'm concerned its only Williams, Irving, Canter that are any good in this draft...the rest you can raffle...they'll be role players and that's it.

Yeah I get it's an alternative - I also get that it's geniused. No need to get defensive just cause it's a stupid suggestion.

As far as whether he's a pure point or not I'm not convinced either - but neither is Westbrook or Rose and they're both in the conference finals. Ok he isn't the player that either of those guys are, but next to a Tyreke Evans (for example) he wouldn't have to be.

All I can say is............LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm loving that the Clippers pick ended up being No.1, just so that the Baron/Mo trade can now look even worse than it did at the time. Man what a bad trade that was.

What stupid organisation would give up an UNPROTECTED FIRST ROUND PICK for so little a reward?

God Bless the Clippers.

And what a draft for the Cavs!
