Another fine example set by the second most experiencd player in our team.

Its one thing to have a blinder against a rookie 19 year old winger when we win by 40, but yet again in a tough game he goes missing. Poor defensive decisions, lack of involvement. Is this the culture we want in our club?

I hope he has an invloved ,enthusatic second 40 and I eat my words. These 'efforts' are typical of his career and the up & down nature of our side.

Offer him a PR role at the club where he's good attitude and people skills might come in handy.

Ashley are u really Sefton Boy in disguise? I agree with you btw and also think Morgan is pooh, we've blooded some crap over the years and he is right up there with the worst, slow, small and useless. Though SK was smarter than that.

Let me go on record first: I don't like Burt - he has very obvious flaws in his game which he doesn't want to change.

What flaws in his game do you think he can change? He has flaws I agree, but not ones you can change. His flaws in my opinion are his lack of size, leg drive in dummy half runs, and the lack of abilility to mark one on one against much larger wingers. He cannot change any of those.

That was a hard game.....I didn't think the Eels played that bad. Contentious ref decisions but all teams suffer that fate during the season. Eels didn't cave in, I felt somewhat proud of the guys tonight. They won't make the 8 but will give a few teams a hard time along the way.

Indeed. The miss for Newie's try was Morgan's - Wes Naq was his man.

Burt had to move in to try and make the tackle as Morgan was caught in no man's land, and then didn't stay alive to make a tackle even after Burt has missed his. Meaning Morgan missed Wes Naq twice in the course of that try - what else is Burt supposed to do.

Jam in and hit! Like every other winger in the comp does. Our club legend just hangs an arm out in hope like he has for the best part of a 12 year career. He is seriously rubbish. He's a solid finisher and has the ability to create a try here and there and kick goals, but his general play and defense are detrimental to the team and have been for years. Clubs with winning cultures and attention to detail and on field performance don't give Luke Burts 12 years 1st grade.

How a winger misses as many tackles as he makes when they have the sideline right by them as 'an extra defender' is beyond me . He'd lead the league 10 fold in missed tackles from the wing. Also did you all see his linebreak? lol. Great take, great run...He gets to a certain point and decides instead of putting the foot down and taking on the fullback he'd run backwards. Ahh Burty.Great clubman, shit player.

Nah last night was Robsons and Keatings fault. Slow service from dummy half and many hospital balls. While Robson is just so slow.

Morgan had it covered, but Burt came rushing in; so Morgan heads to cover the winger, but OH NO - Burt just did a 'dummy tackle' and faked the tackle.

Mind you, that's what Burt brings - so we shouldn't be surprised! He's not a 'star' player, can't dig the team out of a hole on his own, can't win us games on his own (unless someone has put on a try and given him the chance at a game winning conversion).

But at least he's not on Morts money!!!

so one person's saying Burt DIDN'T come in and one is saying he DID ..... f**ked if i remember, I was probably swearing too much at the time

i thought ALL our outside back's defense was woeful last night - walker gets pushed off soooooo many times, morgan was just terrible - all over the place and missing them left right and centre, burt was grabbing at nothing several times, I guess atkins wasn't that bad defensively
