Gotta give credit to Terry. After somewhat calling Lebron out (and Dirk calling him out) he's come up big in the Finals.

Bibby's probably not feeling so great. Forfeited a $6 million option with the Wizards to try and get a ring.

Wait. Shouldn't Terry get the Finals MVP? He's the one that came up big in the decisive game???

*taking off Lakers goggles*

haha thats exactly what i thought when i saw that, is Dirk gonna cop the same crap people gave Kobe?? both had poor shooting nights but came up big with 10 points in the 4th each and grabbing the boards and getting the job done no matter what, stats and numbers do not always tell the whole story.

In the end, who cares bout numbers cause Dirk finally has his ring and i feel good for the big guy.

Dirk was dominant the whole play-offs.

And hit ALL the big shots when they needed to be hit consistently.

Just like today...lead could have been 8 then 6 then 4...and gave Miami hope...but instead he hit two massive shots.

Terry was good the last 2-3 games...but was missing first 3 games where Dirk was really good.

2 game winners from Dirk in the series clearly deserves the MVP IMO. There probably wouldn't have been a Game Six if he hadn't come up big in Game Two.

Oh I don't think anyone's arguing that Dirk shouldn't have been Finals MVP. Clear-cut choice. Best player in the series.

More just highlighting the comparison with this to Game 7 of the Finals last year and all the hoopla about how Gasol should have been Finals MVP.

Oh I've erased last years Finals from memory

Ray Allen should have been in 08 though.

Mavs are in an interesting position going forward. They already have the 2nd highest payroll in the NBA and quite a few of their key players are going to be free agents; Chandler, Barea, Butler and Brian Cardinal (jokes) being the main ones.

Even though the Mavs already have alot committed to Haywood long-term, I think they'll almost have to give Chandler a massive extension. Tbh given his injury history, I'd be pretty nervous about giving Chandler big money long-term, but the Mavs will almost have to. He was clearly one of the keys to their success and will be in high demand.

Barea also I think they'll extend. Given the way he's played in these playoffs, you'd think that he'd also be in line for a significant contract.

Butler is the most interesting one, and given how the Mavs have done without him, he's the easiest one to let go off.

Ray Allen should have been in 08 though.

The more I look back at that series, the more I agree with that point. One guy was matched up with Kobe, the other with a combination of Radmanovic/Walton. And Ray had a far more efficient offensive series.

Although I can understand why Pierce won it.

Interesting to see how Marion's career has unfolded after wanting out of Phoenix. Seemed moronic at the time (since they were a contendor then) and it seemed as if he was forfeiting the chance to win titles. Ultimately it's paid off for him, while none of the other guys from the Suns crew have a ring.
That's one of the first things I thought of. Pouted along in Phoenix those last couple years before getting traded to Miami where he flopped, going to Toronto where he didn't give a damn before landing on this Mavs team and reinventing himself in these Finals. Played a terrific all around game today and was strong throughout.

LOL @ Chris Bosh crying. What are the odds he's traded?
