Billy Slater - 8
Darius Boyd - 3
Greg Inglis - 7
Justin Hodges - 2
Jharal Yow Yeh - 4
Darren Lockyer - 6
Johnathan Thurston - 6
Mat Scott - 7
Cam Smith - 7
Petero Civoniceiva - 8
Nate Myles - 7
Sam Thaiday - 7
Ash Harrison - 5

Cooper Cronk - 4
Corey Parker - 6
Jacob Lillyman - 4
Ben Hannant - 5

Scores are always subject to change and my scale is a little lower. I generally start at 3 and work my way up. I think 9's should be reserved for performances like Darren Lockyer Game 1 2001.

Must say, Parker made me eat my words this series. Thought after Game 2 my thoughts were correct but he played very well off the bench I thought make a couple of good runs that gave us plenty of momentum.

It was between Slater and Petero for MotM honours for me. No real complaints with the decision to reward Smith though as he had another good game and was the best Maroon over the three games.

I've watched the game 3 times and won't argue with any of that

I won't do all of the ratings but I'll say a few things.
Thurston was instrumental in momentum and Lockyer was equally with composure.
We could have had another game I scenario however Lockyer changed the tempo and direction of the play and caught NSW out.
Hodges was close to our worst, defence was under par, quite a few errors including a stupid one trying to start a fight.

Yoh Yeh was fantastic, played his heart out.
Inglis shut up a lot of NSWelshmen, I'm always so, so happy when he scores tries simply because it stings NSWelshmen even more than anyone else.
Cam Smith continues to be the best hooker probably of all time.

But my two stand outs, Billy Slater and Petero.
Slater - Words cannot describe how good he is, players go up and down with form but he has consistently been the most dangerous fullback I have ever seen.

Petero - A true champion, I have to laugh at Gallen, he's a great player but he doesn't have half the humility and decency Petero has and never will.
Will definitely miss him next year.
This for mine.

Very disappointed with Hodgo, but he can only go better from here...

Only player for you guys I thought seemed a bit of, compared to how he normally plays was Nat Myles.

I don't know what it was or how to put this, but he seemed slower or maybe he was a bit ill. He wasn't overly bad, I'm just saying I have see him play much much better.

Can't believe the Rooster are releasing him.

If I could rate your team out 10. Most where 8s and 9s, some 7&1/2,
Nat was between 6-7.5 for mine. Or maybe I was seeing things (and I don't drink).

As for rating QLD, I'll first rate the overall game then NSW first.

It wasn't the best game of footy, I've seen better NRL matches this year, in saying that, it was (obviously) QLD's best of the series.

Especially the first half; apart from the last 5mins, when your players clock-off (probably got a bit complacient, thinking as I did we where going to get lapped by you guys).
______________________________________________________________
Overall Game: B

NSW: C- ; They get a passed because of the fight back at the end of both halves. In the past we have been rightly accused of only playing 70mins.

Although our 80min performance wasn't good enough, we atleast contested right up to the last second.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

QLD: B+ ; This team was capable of a better performance then what happen, but you got the win and thats all you need.

However, at times you guys got ahead of yourselves, when you could have quite easily run away with a cricket score.

But credit where credits due, you pulled yourselves together and hung-on with a 10 point buffer.
_______________________________________________________________

#We are getting closer, but if we win next year, its going to feel a little hollow(although I'll take any series win anyway we can at the moment), without Captain Couragous in the Squad.

Bring 0n 2012....

You're kidding !!

I used to think you weren't a bad judge, but if you don't think that QLD's 30min period in the 1st half was anything other than perfect Rugby League then you have NFI

Game 3 = A+

Well you let in 2 quick tries, very uncharateristic from such a quality side, that is capable of giving a full 80mins of perfect footy. Maybe i was a bit harsh. A- then.

Mainly because our first try came from a Locky knock-on. Could not believe it myself and had to look hard in the replay to see it was Darren who coffed it up.

But you can't tell me that there weren't periods where your standard drop a bit.

An A+ is reserve for mistake free football with no errors or stupid penalties (and QLD had a few).

I mean we didn't get ourselves back into the game, you guys let us back in. That try is more characteristic of Lockyer clean up our scrappy sh#t and strolling over for an easy 4 pointer. That should not have happened, but it did and we captailized on the chance (of the few we had).

Truly if it wasn't for that last 5mins of the first half it would have been the best most controlled halves of footy I'd ever seen.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't be mad if 15 or 17 players of this team where in the Green and Gold.

When I say perfect footy.......I mean just that. How many times have you seen a side receive the ball from a kick off AFTER just scoring and from the ensuing 1st set of six, end it by forcing the opposition into their own try line, thus forcing the goal line drop out.

Simply the best.......

We had a couple of lapses .......it never mattered. No team in the world could have come back and beat QLD last night.

I agree with you on the 30mins and yes that was marvelous (and painful), but I try to be equal and realistic with both sides.

You made us look like a reserve grade side for so much of that half, but I was merely pointing out the lapses, that Locky quickly reactified. We'll probably disagree on this and I haven't watched the replay yet (taking out emotion)
