Storm v Broncos on Channel 9

More fans in NSW and QLD will watch the footy on Friday because of the way they've scheduled it. That must be a good thing. Channel 9 get their cash out of putting bums on seats (or eyes on screens) so it shouldn't surprise that they've chosen to go the way that will maximise viewers. More people in NSW are happy about this than are unhappy. It's the way they do it every week. I'd rather watch Storm V Broncos first but there are a shirtload of Parra/Dogs fans that would disagree. Since I watch both games every week it doesn't matter. If I ignore that news and bookie accounts then I won't know who won.

Victorian viewers will have to watch it on the computer again which is unfortunate for them but maintains the norm.

Eels v Dogs - essential. Broncos - wow, I get to see them again. Woopee. 80 minutes of third man in whinging after each play the ball. Just like every other f*cking Friday night. Is that because Queenslanders cant find Lang park on Saturday?

The Cowpats are definitely getting the raw end of the pineapple on FNF.

Melbourne people = lucky.

Yeh essential to see if Dogs are gone for the season too, cause eels most certainly are. Compelling viewing.

Loudy = dipshit.

Another sensational point well made.

We hear every week how people are sick of f**king Brisbane on FNF... and now we're suggesting NSW should be subjected to them as well?

As for he biggest rivalry in league - these clashes went head to head in preliminary finals in 2009. One got 24k. The other got 76k - and it wasn't the Broncos vs the Storm either.

The Lang Park game will be another Queensland love in compared to Parra v Dogs. And why we have to cop more Broncos games than any Sydney side - even Saints - is utterly beyond me.

I'm glad Eels-Dogs are live on TV, because even though I'd get into the match for free (as an away member), if it's a shitty winters night I'd rather stay home and watch by a heater than risk getting a cold at Homebush (or anywhere else).

(I must be getting old... :sarcasm:.)

Both the 2009 final as this Friday's game are played in Melbourne. The only final played in Brisbane in 2009 was the Broncos - Dragons with a 50k+ attendance.

I could use loudtard's stupid argument to mention that the Broncos - Storm GF attracted 80k+ despite neither team being from NSW, but I do understand the difference between finals and regular season games...

Let's see if the Dogs-Eels game beats the Storm-Broncos at AAMI park...

Guaranteed it will. If they get over 20k to the soap sud stadium it would be a miracle.

80k go to every GF numbnuts. Which is why they dont have them in Brisbane.

This is a near top-of-the-table clash.

Broncos v Storm is much more interesting than Broncos v Tits or Broncos v Sharks (which was shown earlier in the year when Sharks weren't doing as well.)

If silly Luke Burt had of run that ball into touch to kill the game last Saturday night then the Eels would still be in the hunt and Friday night's game would be a tad more interesting. Would have been billed as a last throw of the dice for both teams.

But the "experienced" Burt failed to use any of his experience. God that was frustrating to watch.

AuDragon, not exactly the best argument to make there bud. ANZ stadium vs. AAMI stadium, it's not even a contest. Even television audiences won't help us out here.

It's more than understandable to see why the Bulldogs vs. Eels is the NSW game, it's just a shame they're going to miss out on a far more important game.

You could, but you'd be terribly wrong. The Broncos v Storm GF in 2006 was actually the ONLY Grand Final in the Telstra/ANZ Stadium era (1999-present) where the crowd figure fell below 80,000. That GF drew in 79,609.

Let's see if the Dogs-Eels game beats the Storm-Broncos at AAMI park...

Crowd-wise? It wouldn't be hard.

Storm vs Broncos will have a massive effect on the finals. Dogs vs Eels will have absolutely none.

How pathetic from 9. A f**king terrible decision to put two of the worst teams in the comp on live ahead of two of the best.

Several better finals games in the past decade than that one!
