Your never going to win a comp with no fullback, no forwards and when your playmaker only plays for 20 minutes a game.

Please....every club has injuries.
Saints & Canberra both had just as much talent as you guys sitting on the bench.
Poor excuse.

I doubt that. Saints were without Cooper and Scott iirc who are nowhere near as important to their side as Ellis and Galloway are to the Tigers considering the inexperience of our forwards. Raiders were without Dugan and Fensom who similarly are no loss when compared to Farah and Galloway when you consider the balance Galloway adds to the experience of the pack and Farah is the captain and lynchpin of the entire side. Add Tuqiri's cap space and our best two rookies and the injuries are just not comparable. Robinson provides more than adequate cover for Dugan too.

Sorry Mac but injuries do not excuse what was dished up.

Canberra lost their most vital attacking and defensive cogs. What happened? The team adapted and players did their job. That is what a football club should be about

As a Tigers fan I have been confident the past 2 years that they would eventually come good. No so this year. They look physically unfit and in poor condition. They have no halfback and questions at fullback. They have a 500K signing who looks terribly uninterested. They have young forwards that look overwhelmed. As a team they look non plussed.

I know they often do this. However the alarm bells are well and truly ringing here. Steve Folkes did a really good job with their conditioning and looking after the defence the past 2 seasons. His departure looks to have left a big hole in this regard.

The tigers injuries are hitting hard and have had a much greater impact on the the team as opposed to the injuries that the eagles, dragons, raiders had.

However this is entirely the Tigers fault. Sheens has taken a gamble on a few big name players on big money (tuqiri, Lawrence, benji, Galloway, farah, Ellis, Blair) in the hope that they will play the majority of games and perform at 100%. After them we have a bunch of kids and players who will never be anything Other then average first graders, we also have no depth.

At the moment it isn't working

That's not true, Cooper plays a vital role in our left-hand side attack and Scott provides plenty of starch to our defence

i suggested in a game thread a few weeks ago that the tigers aren't enjoying playing with the pressure of premiership favoritism.

once the pressure begins to ease off, i think they will string a few wins together.

question is if they can then handle the pressure if it returns in the back half of the comp.

Two weeks in a row where we have been out of the game by the 60th minute, if not earlier. I can't recall when the last time that has occured.

I think Eddie has hit the nail off the head. We just look completely off the pace, an absolute rabble, with massive fitness problems. I can't see how we can such large problems quickly.

To say that Cooper & Scott are nowhere near as important is ridiculous.

You obviously haven't seen the workload Fensom gets through for the Raiders.
And the Raiders also lost another 2 players from their 17 last night during the game.
Injuries hit every side.

The window was never open. They pulled 2005 out of their arse and have never even looked like a premiership winning side. Poor recruitment and a poor coach have bent them over.
2005 Wests Tigers were in red hot form at the right time of the year, combined with minimal injuries for the entire year. They were helped by not having to face Parra or the Storm in the finals, and the Dragons and Broncos fell over against them.

For the next few years they had injury problems and lost Prince in 2007 to the Titans.

In 2009 they had a late charge for the finals, winning 6 games in a row to get them in contention, but then fell apart in the last few rounds once Tuiaki got injured against Parra.

In 2010 they again had a good second half of the season, winning 11 of their final 15 games of the regular season to finish 3rd. They lost the preliminary final to the dragons by 1 point.

In 2011 they went on a 9 game winning streak from round 19, finishing 4th. They lost in week 2 of the finals to the Warriors by 2 points.

So they have been contenders the last few years, falling just short each time. They didn't get the big prize at the end, but they gave it a pretty good shot!

Yeah, don't think it's fair to say we weren't a contender in 2010.

Jeremy Smith's knees in Tuqiri's back could very easily have been penalised and we'd have played in a grand final.

I'd say 3. It was 22-8 at the 60th minute against Manly.

I dunno, I still held hope we could pull that off until the dying minutes. We were all over Manly in that last 10 minutes. Masila juggled a bomb with a 90 seconds to go...

I always laugh at Tiger fans who use that to bitch about why they didn't win that game.

Of course it's conveniently forgotten that Morris was away for a try hadn't the touch judge called the Boyd pass forward, dispite the replays showing the pass was half a metre backwards.

I'm not bitching about it, it's the way things go. It could have very easily been called a penalty and we'd have won by a point. Of course, the Boyd pass could have been let go and we'd have lost by 7.

I think the match was close enough to say that we were one of the biggest threats to the Dragons that year, but each to their own.
