I've been relatively silent over this because I'm pretty torn on the subject. It was a shocking hit, I think we can all agree on that. Inglis was dumb as dogshit for putting a hit like that on a man who was stationary.
The problem I have is the more we and the public make a big stink over this and the fight that followed that put Young in further danger, the more we risk stirring up the hive big time, and it won't be good for the health of the game or its image.
Inglis deserves 4 weeks off, and Souths need to wear it on the chin, despite Bunniesmans abhorrently one eyed view on the incident (where's the surprise there?), and he WILL get those 4 weeks. If Souths need to pay the ultimate price for their lack of discipline by falling out of the 8, or at least the top 4, then so be it.
This was an ugly, ugly incident, but it is by no means a reason to wrap our game in Fragile tape. These things happen whether we like it or not, and with the negotiations for the T.V Rights deal currently at fever pitch, the last thing we need is turning our audience away by making the same mistakes as the fumbleballers.
