You serious?
If you get silver you certain didn't win, so what is it then?
We're Parra winners in 2009?

I don't think the NRL is the best example...
Maybe I'm just an optimist thinking that all medals are achievements. I'd rather see a silver as having beaten virtually everyone in the world, rather than having lost to one person.
I'd still have gold any day, but I don't think silver is a measure of failure.

Sure, second is ok......but you're still not a winner.
Maybe not a loser either.....unless you were the favourite and choked like Mr Magnusson.

Great racing by Steve Solomon in the 400m this AM. He's run two PB's to get to the final and went sub 45 this morning. It was only in 1960 Olympics in Rome that the magic sub 45 was broken. Steve's not only white but when you see him, is skinny and has a lot of muscle to put on in glutes and quads in the next 4 years.

Not bad for a kid who was just running semi serious at my son's school 2 years ago.

If you have a look at the start list, he's drawn lane 3, so he'll lead them out. If he runs another PB and things fall in his favour, he could medal. I know his PB is way off the black bros, but here's hoping.

Startlist
Lane Bib Athlete PB
2 1132 BORLEE Jonathan 44.43
3 1060 SOLOMON Steven 44.97
4 3044 GORDON Lalonde 44.58
5 2005 JAMES Kirani 44.36
6 1100 BROWN Chris 44.40
7 1564 SANTOS Luguelin 44.45
8 1108 PINDER Demetrius 44.77
9 1133 BORLEE Kevin 44.56

How about those twins from Belgium (lanes 2 & 9). That must be an Olympic first.

Usain Bolt!!! What a champion

And Solomon's great performance has hopefully shut that Mundine wannabe Steffenson up for good.

What a knob. Solo ran nearly a full second better in the Semi to make the final. In the Olympic trials, Steffenson ran 45:74 in Melbourne a few months ago.

This fella competed in the 400m this morning. He was eliminated after he came last.

Note sure I am in favour of his right to compete. Not a level playing field IMO.

I have no problem with his right to compete, I just have a problem with those springy things attached to his stumps.

Silver's like winning the premiership but not the World Club Challenge. You still celebrate.

...okay not a great analogy, but you get my drift. Silver at the Olympics is still great, you're the second best in the whole world.

Great win by Sally in her heat.

What about those Boomers with a goal at 00:1 to win vs Russia. Shit happens Ruskis.

We're a chance in shooting and sailing tonight

Steve Solomon's final is 6:30am.
