No we're looking at Carmont? 2013 is turning into a joke.

The Warriors have confirmed their interest in former Wigan and Newcastle Knights centre George Carmont.
The 34-year-old retired at the end of the super league season, but the Warriors are hoping to tempt the Aucklander into playing one more season.
While he wouldn't be a front line player, Carmont would add depth and experience to an outside back division light on both.
"The short answer to that is yes," coach Matt Elliott said when asked if Carmont was on the club's radar.
After 94 games for Wigan over five seasons, Carmont is returning to live in Auckland regardless of whether he joins the Warriors.
He began his NRL career in 2004, making 83 appearances for the Newcastle Knights before joining Wigan in 2007.
Elliott was a factor in that move, having recommended Carmont to his former understudy Brian Noble, the then Wigan coach.
Elliott returned to Australia yesterday to tie up some loose ends and will return to New Zealand late next week for good.

The club confirmed the first move of the Elliott era, with strength and conditioning coach Carl Jennings joining the club after a stint in Super Rugby with the Canterbury Crusaders.
Jennings worked with Elliott at Bradford, Canberra and Penrith. He replaces Craig Walker, who this week joined the Roosters.
"Carl has an outstanding track record in what is such a highly specialised area," Elliott said.

Chill out, it's just for cheap, experienced depth. Hardly a signing that is going to determine the seasons fate.

I'd hardly call a depth signing a joke, as it said he's returning to Auckland anyway so it won't be like we'd be offering big bucks to pull him away from the northern hemisphere. Plus it's not confirmation of signing, just confirmation of interest.

Agreed. Every signing doesn't have to be a marquee one. And lord knows we need to keep the Vulcans in mind this season. No issue with this at all.

He'll be a Jesse Royal kinda deal I guess. It looks a little silly buying a recently retired (ESL) player. But we have money to spend, and he's cheap... so I am not upset.

As long as he doesn't dummy to an unmarked man in a finals match, he won't be the worst ESL player to come back.

I'm still not over 2007. Logan f*cking Swann.

He might be able to mentor Hurrell to a degree.
More men in the squad is a good thing. Too many immature little boys at the moment.

Well... thats concerning to say the least... I agree we need depth, what I wouldn't like to see is us become somewhat of a charity home that we had been for the likes of Mick Crockett and these types of players.

A good pick up as a back up player. I do hope that they can still secure another 2 x high profile signings. We picked up Campion late when he joined the Warriors.

Shit, I would rather have him than Ivan Penehe!!! Chill out, Wigan player of the year playing on a second tier contract as an injury back up??? Cant see the problem here. They even say he would be back up.

Sounds like they are saying well you're in the city.. Might as well play a bit of league and help out!

Decent signing for injury cover and strengthening Vulcans (Needs attention also IMO) he won't be starting line up,nothing wrong there, one year deal any way. Hus experience will rub off on the yunger boys. TBH I can see him taking the field for FG next year, if this years injuries are repeated again.

As long as thats the case. I'd hate to think he'd be top 25?

Can't say I saw a lot of him at Newcastle but the couple of games I watched him in in the UK he went well. Are we judging him on facts or hearsay?

He was very good at Newcastle. Not sure why they let him go.
