The cynic in me thinks that if the auditor eiother worked or played for you, then the club has a different set of rules. Queistions need to be asked about that, and basically taken out of the hands of the current flawed person and put in the hands of an independent source.

Sometimes it goes the other way. You want to be seen as having no bias so you work doubly hard against your old club to prove it. The Roosters couldn't market the SBW signing to take advantage of pre Christmas marketing due Schubert's refusal to endorse the contract for example. Apparently lack of paperwork was the reason but that could've slipped by if Schubert was indeed dodgey.

His career didn't end well with us. Dumped to reserves before being let go before quietly ending his career at Wests so he might even hold a grudge. Who knows? However, I agree with you that a more neutral and better qualified person should get the gig. I'm surprised he kept his job after the Storm fiasco to be honest.

Panthers fans should just take heart in the fact that they will beat us again next season regardless of whether we have Jennings or not, they always do.

I was one who advocated his long term deal when signed and felt that with the increased cap predicted (when he signed the new contract a few years ago) that we would get value. That hasn't turned out to be the case.

I think the biggest affect on Jenko's "perceived" value was losing Tank, although he floated in and out of a game, he did take pressure off Jenko and allowed him the room to show the talent we know he has. We had 2 1/2's who couldn't make a break and we relied solely on Jenko to be our spark. I think a tad unfair.

I, along with all supporters, don't want him to leave but if another club wants to pay what we are, then unfortunately commercially it would be the right decision to part ways.

I still don't see how another club would pay what we are and I will be filthy if "we are paying" for him to be at another club.

Well,if a stalemate has formed,there'll be no jennings move.

This could be a test case for clubs,players and moreso,player's managers to see how much blood they can squeeze out of each other.

Really? 3 SOO players from a team that struggles to win games. Jennings gets no ball so hard to blame him 100% for the struggles. Unless we get Thurston we are weaker for his departure

Gordon is constantly injured, maybe he plays a full season next year and maybe he doesn't. History suggests we can't risk continuing to pay a player to sit on the sidelines again.

Jennings is on way too much money.

Lewis is harder to justify but if he was happy perpetuating the culture of an underperforming side then it's probably best if he moves on.

You were right when you said they were fan favourites, they were my favourites, but I'm a fan if the Panthers before all of them and change was and probably still is needed at the club.

What Gus thinks is a large amount would be interesting.

It wasn't that long ago that Penrith was apparently willing to pay $200k of Jennings contract. Not much has changed. Jennings is still not wanted. Jennings still knows he's not wanted and he would like to be at Penrith but how do you stay when you know you are not wanted. Very similar to Lewie.

The strategy is to treat him poorly to try and convince him to make the decision. Rather than be honest about what they are doing.

This is the way the club operates at most levels now. It is certainly a favourite tactic of Feltis.

We need a 7 we get Thurston it's a silver lining.

For 2013 however we have lost 2 Seijka and Jennings that can actually do something with the new signings to fix that. I was drooling at Jennings running off a Manu offload

I guess Dean Whare could take Jennings centre spot which lessens that headache of where to play him.

What headache? I thought he was a perfect fit for right centre, a spot we haven't had a bloke pick himself in since Whatuira left us basically. Since the glory days Jenko has been the only centre who picks himself.

I know he has had some poor form at times, but you can blame our halves just as much for that. You could see him trying to create things on numerous occasions during his poor form and just not having any help in doing so. Pretty hard for a centre with his skills to be dominant when the only time you get early ball is from a dummy half run or to take a hit up. He is at his best with room to move out wide, and he can't make himself get the ball with space. It's the same reason it took a move to fullback for Flash to reach his potential... the opposition would kick the ball and he would actually get it with space. Which stacked ontop of his dummy half runs, hit ups and supporting ball runners really took his game to another level. A level he could have been playing at with decent halves a long time ago. Even if he gets stuck on the wing at Cronulla, atleast Carney uses his backline.

Yeah or said he is leaving at the very least but nothing makes me think he will stay up there. 2010 we were a quality half away from being able to win the comp. Like Young Panther said Pritchard just being there would draw defenders away from him. since he left he has struggled but the whole team has.

When we dominated Roosters, Eels, Titans even the Sharks game he looked good. All Stars game he looks the goods. Still overpaid but with no cap pressure and no suitable replacement better we keep him then not

2010 was an aberration.

Scoring all those tries from kicks made the team look better than it was.

For mine the team needed blowing up. So bad had the attitudes of some of the players become they seemingly wanted a say in the future coach. Ffs even Lockyer didn't get a say in the replacement of bennett.

It's sad things have to go this way but things need to change. Lesser players with better attitudes will get us further.

I don't think 2010 was an aberration at all. We played to our strengths and won more games than 14 of the the 15 other teams.

What was an aberration was the injuries suffered leading into and during the final series. Had those injuries not occurred and we performed in the finals to the same standard as we'd performed all year, I dare say the picture today would be quite different than the one we are watching.

It demonstrates the fickleness of the game. It also demonstrates the fickleness in analyses of the game.
