Definitely. His job is to retrieve the ball and not disrupt the flow of game, nothing more. The little tosspot apparently talked up about time wasting before the game on his Twitter account as well.

I know that if I was Hazard in that situation I would have certainly done more than kicked the ball from underneath him, that's for sure.

The kid clearly took longer than he needed to but that doesn't excuse Hazard.

Hazard should get double any ban the kid gets.

We're comparing a child to a grown man here. He kicked a child and it has made worldwide news all around the world. Completely humiliating for the league, his club and himself.

He should go for at least a few weeks.

Awesome!

Yeah why not kick him, I mean its not like the ref wouldn't note the lost time or there were no other balls available.

The defenses put forward for this Hazard merkin are a disgrace.

If it was at Old Trafford I'd say good on him but nah, you can't do that. Just watched it and yeah the kid was wasting a little time but it was a matter of seconds and it was like 79 mins into the game.
Massive over reaction from Hazzard

Can referees yellow/red card ballboys?

Players and coaches on the bench can get cards for timewasting by holding onto a ball when the opposition player wants it quickly. So why not have the ability to send ballboys off too?

The ball boy completely over stepped the line and should face some form of punishment but nothing should excuse what hazard did. Regardless of the time wasting, his next action should never ever be to lash out and kick, regardless of the amount of force used in his kick.. Hazard is a professional footballer and should act accordingly regardless of the actions of a deadshit 17 year old.

I really doubt the FA has put much consideration into it considering the average ballboy is about 10 and enjoying the biggest moment of their lives.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, kicking at someone is a red card for violent conduct. Anyone arguing with that has their head in the sand, simple.

*The buy deliberately wasted time. He should get lost.

*Hazard was rightfully given a red and should get a suspension. If the boy was innocent, he should be thrown out of the game....but there are extenunating circumstances here.

Yep.. That last line is 100% accurate. It's reasonable to expect a professional sportsman act better than a teenage ball boy.

Any defenses put forward for the actions taken is just head in sand stuff.. He simply shouldn't have done it regardless.

I agree. Luckily Hazard kicked the ball, which last time I checked forms a central part of the game.

So essentially Hazard was red-carded for kicking the ball during a game of football. Good times!
