Who will thrive under Stuart?

Out of the players who have potential but didn't/havnt lived up to it the past couple years. Who do you think Stuart will have the most influence on?

Ben Roberts
Jarryd Hayne
Chris Sandow
Reni Maitua
Willie Tonga

And then the lesser skilled players that may just need the right coach to harness their strengths

Ryan Morgan
Matt Keating
Cheyse Blair
Luke Kelly

I think if Mannah fires this year we can thank dean pay for that

I want to see Ben Roberts improve and as the article in the daily tele today he will be trying his hand at hooker. I reckon that's the best spot for him if he can get his Defence up put to scratch.

Anyone who thinks Ben Roberts will become a solid player needs to get their prospecting pan out and go down and try find gold in Parramatta river.

The bloke is what he is, and he'll be the same this year. Rocks or Diamonds, and all you can do to stop it is sit him on the bench!

Yep my plan with Roberts would be to hook him as soon as he does something good

Stuart's track record with halves has been shytehouse but I really hope he gets the best out of Arnold.

I hope the game plan improves.

Technically Roberts is sound except maybe defence

It's his brain that is the issue

If Stuart takes the decision making away from him, and he can come good. I still think h should be tried at centre. Would love to see him one on one with opposition centre.

Please let Tim Mannah improve his game and add something else. He needs a step or a passing game because last year showed that the defence can just zero in on him without them.

Yep Mannah'd biggest problem has been he never even considers throwing a pass. Means he can be targeted by the man marking him and either side can commi to him without the worry that he will pop a ball to someone who will be unmarked. He needs to develop passing I think or he becomes too limited. No doubt he is very good at what he does, but I don't think it's quite enough.

Interesting - I'm not sure a coach can take all of the decision making away from a player. Also I think we seem to struggle as a team when we try to play very structured. It just doesnt seem to suit us.

In my mind, you still want players like Roberts to play what is in front of them when given a chance so I guess it is more about improving decision making and choosing the right plays at the right moments.

Widening the available options, instead of blind faith in a "structure"... will improve the whole side's performance, as seen even at the tail end of last season after someone took their marching orders.

I can't wait to see out forwards under dean pays advice. I'm sure he was the forwards coach so to speak in Melbourne and they always got the best out of their old stagers. So guys like mannah and Allgood and darcy to under pay 3 good up and coming props will go well

Everyone played well in patches last year, particularly in attack. However the young blokes, like all young blokes, were inconsistent. That will improve as they gain more experience. Hopefully with a change in on-field leadership we will stop crumbling when the opposition applies the blowtorch. Hindy had a tendency to go into his shell and just work harder when things got tough, when you want your captain engaging his young charges.

So I expect most of our players to improve this year. Our middle third really declined last year, after a strong 2011. Obviously Fui is getting old, and Mannah had his own issues. He said himself that he finished the year underweight. With Mannah (hopefully) back to his best and the addition of Lussick the rest of the team will have a decent platform. Fui will never be the player he was since his peak of '09-'11 so we need Mannah, Lussick and the other youngsters to step up.

Reni Maitua is another who could naturally decline this year. Everyone else is either at his peak or on the way up. Full seasons out of Hayne and Tonga will see a massive improvement, especially in the team's confidence. We'll also benefit from having an extra off-season with Sandow training with the team. Strong combinations can only form with time.

Poupou, you forgot to mention that we got rid of the old blokes who were causing trouble.

Lussick will be our best prop this year under Stuart.

It would be great for our whole forward pack to improve this year. If this happens I believe we have the players in the backs to dominate the opposition. I hope Dean Pay can get inside their heads and give them the confidence they need.
