If it's true surely could be one of the better signings the club could've main due to his age and the potential he has. The way he dominated Gallen last year was pretty to watch.

Papali, frazer, Pauli, fui, reni, kalepi...there is some destruction in this back row, maybe loko, this rebuilding I can cop!

Lovely to see Hayne, sandow and hoppa running off the back of that go forward!

All this debate over a potential signing for season 2014 before season 2013 has even started!

Bring back the June 30 deadline! (Yes I'm aware negotiations still often took place before the deadline)

Parra have (officially) announced Papali has signed for 3 years on Twitter. No more speculation, he's ours.

What's your problem rummy? Personally, I don't see any issue with people discussing the potential signing of Papali.

Local journo now quoting Paps saying he's looking forward to finishing off strong at canberra and the exciting challenge ahead of him at Parra.

Canberra still hopeful of a Nathan Smith/Luke Lewis change of heart. But outside of that, looks like it's done... Congrats, got a damn good player here. I doubt we'll ever truly know the contract value but i hope we at least made you blokes pay through the nose. Gutted to see him leave but thats the nature of the NRL unfortunately.

Thanks Raider - I'm sure we paid through both nostrils.

Unless he changes his mind before round 13. I hope he will but doubt it.

That said, this time last year he'd given NZ a guarantee that he wanted to represent NZ, so who knows?

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels are today proud to announce the signing of Josh Papalii on a 3 year deal from the start of next season.
A Queensland under 18’s representative in 2010, Papalii went on to make his NRL debut in 2011.
“The time I have spent with the Canberra Raiders have been the best of my life. The Club and the fans have been so good to me & my family and I will always be grateful.” Papalii said.
“Heading to Parramatta next season is a new and exciting challenge, they are a club on the rise and I am looking forward to being a part of what Ricky Stuart and the team up there are doing. My first priority though is playing good footy for the Raiders this year and going out on a high.”
Pirtek Parramatta Eels Chief Executive Officer Ken Edwards, believes securing the services of Papalii is a massive boost for the strategy the club has for the future.
“We have a plan at the Parramatta Eels to continue to restore pride in our jersey and once again be a dominant force in the NRL. Josh Papalii’s signature puts us well on our way to doing that. He is a great fit for our brand and will be welcomed with open arms into the Blue and Gold Family.”
Head Coach Ricky Stuart excited by what his new charge can bring to his young forward pack.
“Josh is an outstanding young footballer and will bring with him all the attributes we are looking for in a player at the Parramatta Eels. We are a club building for the future and signing a young man of Josh’s ability represents that.”

Great news!!!

Good post - as an eels fan I am bloody happy with the signing. But I do think the NRL should put something in place to help clubs keep juniors they have developed from a young age. It aren't really fair you put all the effort into developing a player to see him take a big offer to change clubs when his best years are ahead of them.

Good to see we have now signed two young players (josh and will) who have their best playing days ahead of them and both have the potential to be one of the better players in the comp within their position.
