If we can step back a bit from the peripheral (but not unimportant) issues, like the afl and adsa dealings it should be noted three issues appear to be firming here.

1. that there is growing evidence (possibly photographic) that at least one Cronulla player has had an equine injection. and hence the former chairman's angry outburst

2. That some people in authority in the Cronulla organization knew of what was going on and did not deal with the issue properly at the time.

3. That there is enough evidence in Adsa case that the Cronulla players involved, whether inadvertently or not, have given serious consideration to pleading guilty.

The ARLC has proved its worth here.

Gallop would have taken this like a bitch.

As it stands, ASADA is on the verge of being discredited for showing favouritism, the AFL (And to a lesser degree, Essendon) is on the verge of being shown up as a rather repugnant, colluding , immoral organisation and punishments will soon get meted out.

ASADA have painted themselves into a nice little corner with their treatment of Cronulla. Frankly, I hate the Sharks as an organisation, but the way ASADA has gone at them while they've been drinking High Tea at AFL house trying to find a way to get Essendon out of sh*t beggars belief and was grossly unfair.

They are going to have to go hard at Essendon. Just dropping the chase against Cronulla isn't feasible as WADA will sanction them and the Australian government can't cop our reputation being so damaged. And it looks like Essendon have a lot more to hide.

Cronulla fans have always had the utmost respect and love for your club too.

Oh just one question. If your club got rid of this fellow as you were unhappy with his methods, your club may have done the whole NRL and AFL a favour by reporting those concerns to fellow clubs and sporting organisations. Or was their no evidence that anything untoward was happening in your club with this guy and you only got rid of him because he had a personality clash with des?

Oh that's right, you club has been cleared. I smell AFL type rubbish all over your lot

Na, we'd knew Cronulla would take him up.

Can't think of much better than Killing Cronulla and f**king over a team in red and black (again).

Ha Ha,

So it's Manly's fault that the Sharks are allegedly, possibly, being investigated over some unsubstantiated claims of possible, alleged usage of some allegedly, potentially banned susbstance, which they may have not even used. Classic stuff

I blame Hartley.

so just on doping.

say the players didnt know they were illegal. lets say they were told they werent, and believed it. and went on with it because hey theyre rugby league players. they dont question things. smarter folk wouldnt be league players.

is the statute of limitations on this endless?

like, how far back can they go with tests and samples and crap?

is cheating still cheating if you arent intending to cheat?

I'd imagine there is some onus on the players to question what they are taking, not just accept it as fine.

As Inglis said, any non-painkilling injections should be a red flag

I reckon this incident (the AFL getting away with it) is a "line in the sand" moment for Dave Smith.

No more bullshit from the AFL and there preferential treatment, this would be a big kick in the guts for the AFL hierarchy (not to mention the AFL fans who claim no special treatment that frequent this forum)

Very different story if not injections. Liquids in supplement drinks, tablets, creams rubbed into players biceps etc. most clubs and players admit they are in the hands of the staff to ensure its right.

yup

since this backfired ASADA's next option is to lose evidence

their should be a bigger investigation into ASADA, the AFL and any other crooks involved

wouldn't surprise me if politicians were involved in this seeing Demetriou allegedly met with them about it

The entire thing is a farce and the people who should be verry worried now are ASADA and the AFL.

David Smith is a bloody champion. Gallop would have bent over for ASADA and
and done what the news ltd media wanted him to do.
