The actual media jurnos have run their personal opinion pieces by innuendo and accepting second hand comments as facts - they are the real disgrace.

The media are doing there job, the ACC who announced the press conference on the other hand...

"The ACC have messed it up and if they not very careful they are going to end up with massive egg on their face and it will weaken any pursuit of inappropriate behaviour in the future"

The media's job is report the facts, not make up ficition - that is for a novelist.

That is Jeffery's opinion, which he is entitled too; but it is just an opinion.

i never brought up that

i have mentioned how Labor has given much larger amounts

What exactly is your problem that the government has provided $10m to help fund the development of a community facility which will house at least 4 charities?

And I don't understand your point. They have given a Collingwood $10m and a Bulldogs development $5m so they are giving the AFL special treatment?

If money is available on the NBN ,of such magnitude, then a a miniscule percentage of that figure should be available for things such as sports' testing and such a body as ASADA.
The money issue is relevant to the debate, unlesswe are another planet.
Lundy was able to spend a decent sum of money on I believe a collingwood facility via a grant. The wealthiest club in the land.
We at least agree on removing drug cheats. We disagree on the way it has been handled.

If it is political point scoring ,then I am aligned with some members of the ALP in parliament who have castigated Lundy and the handling of the issue

Are you able to provide a link or reference to this supposed grant?

I presume this and this are what he was talking about.

my point?

wtf are you on about AFL apologist?

You wont answer the bloody obvious question. Why, have you got your knickers in a knot about a $10m grant for a community centre but are silent on a $5m grant for an upgrade of training facilities for a private group? And I cant stand AFL - I just don't get the game.

In fairness and I am sick of the he says,he says debate with the ASADA stuff going on ,but I would just refer both you and Ek999 to my post today at 7-49am and the reference in the Herald Sun where the story behind the Magpie grant, was compared to a sport's rort.
That is a compeletely different picture(the way it was handled) to what happened at Belmore.

Whatever its usage and any community facility is to be applauded ,the club is the wealthiest in the land based in a certain area, and the way it was handled appears to be underhanded according to the report. The club gains a valuable asset as part of their extended 21 year lease.

I have no problem with grants, provided there is equity across codes.

I dont know the full details of the grant to Canterbury Re: Belmore Oval but direct quote from the reference you provided in your post at 7.49am doesn't indicate there is room for concern re: this grant:

" The Pies will spend up to $10 million of their money on overhauling Westpac Centre and will put in up to $5 million to a community centre - depending on attempts to find funding partners.

The $10 million in federal funds will go towards the community centre."

- I see it more as a community services grant then a sports grant.

And you would be wrong. The first sentence of the article you've quoted starts with the words "The Pies......"

The point is ownership, the Pies (Oz wealthiest club) will own the facility,Belmore is on Blemore Oval not owned by the Dogs. What the pies has contributed does not take way from the facts the Feds contributed $10m,yes it is for a good cause, but it is still money found.

Will cite a further example. We know the GWS Giants received $27.5m for the Blacktown development_$17.5m from the State govt.

Then the poor little dears who play for the club, decided they were homesick and wanted to be close to homebush. So they received a $2m grant from the Federal Govt to assist in setting up a faciltiy at Homebush, leaving Blacktown a white elephant.

My point which I have been harping all along,if the govt can throw money around to the Pies and GWS (absolute rort) and OK even Belmore, then they can find money to better resource ASADA.It's not friggin hard.
Its about funding:FUNDING

because then they might catch some AFL players out

You are kidding me right, it must be so hard living in your head, being that paranoid all the time. You don't really believe this is just some Labour party plot against rugby league do you? There are people in Australian sport that are cheating, pure and simple. Your arguments for better funding and a stronger resourced ASADA are great, but then you ruin it by ranting your conspiracy theories.

At the very least the NRL will be adopting the use of blood passports, this in the very least is a large step forward for sport in Australia. I'm sure you and your posse will find fault with the introduction of these passports though.
