I was a fan of Greenberg becoming CEO before but I'm not so sure anymore, when fully considering the enormity of the task at hand.

Assuming he isn't actually appointed, I'd like to see him given a No.2 or No.3 position somewhere down the line grooming for future leadership. I think once we get our house in order promotion from within is most likely to serve us best.

What I would like to see is a possible shake up or restructure of ARLC/NRL management. Get rid of any underperformers, loafers or people who don't have the ability and nous to undertake the roles we need for what we're trying to achieve.

I'm hoping a strong deputy or COO is also brought in to handle issues more directly related to the NRL only , or perhaps creating a position for an NRL General Manager who handles the day to day issues competition issues and reports to Smith in the new layer above as ARLC CEO.

Awww yeah cmon

Fantastic appointment if true.

The ARLC have barely put a foot wrong.

A couple of days ago on the Big Sports Breakfast Greenberg was asked about rumours do him leaving the Dogs to take up a role at Cricket Australia. Looks like he used the usual "Rugby League manager trick" of creating false "press interest" to bump up his asking price.

Well played sir.

If he is indeed going, I can't see it being immediate. Transition period I imagine.

Sucks, but good for the game. Hope our replacement is hand-picked too.

I doubt Greenberg will leave immediately.

He'll probably give a bit of time to finish a few things off, help with the recruitment/promotion of a new CEO and other general things to help effect a smooth transition.

Given that he is moving from club to NRL, it would have to be almost immediate otherwise it could be preceived as a conflict of interest. Perceived independence is as important as actual independence.

The ARLC is looking less the shambles of the NRL board and more like the old ARL. Smith is Arko, Toddy is Quayle.

Leadership. I like it.

This is what I was saying.
Conflict of interest is there if it isn't a swift transition from club to admin.

Dessie will be calling him up the minute something doesnt go their way.

Perhaps the murmurs that morale at RL central are actually true.

Management were worried because a shake-up was going to have their arses on the line

Anyone who sees this as a negative is a fool. Greenberg is a massive addition to leagues administration.

Exactly. He knows rugby League and will actually promote the Good in the game over the lies currently doing the rounds.

1st port of call that grub Hadley. RL crowds are up 52k the other week. Souths v Melb outdrew to 2 A League GF qualifiers combined. Yet Smith is going bad :lol:
