I think he is facing at least 3 weeks.
Grade 1 reckless they are claiming on twitter. Don't know how that equates to 7 weeks given the base penalty is 300 points though? That would require 3 similar offences, 2 similar and 2 non-similar, or 1 similar and 4 non-similar offences in the past 2 years.
I can remember him getting suspended once last year, and I think he got done in 2011 as well but can't remember what for.
No contact with the shoulder at all, but wtf, I make few posts compared to most on this forum and I'm just trying to get off the bench . . . what better place than a school for the blind
As much as I hate the shoulder charge ban you have to laugh at the NRL logic. JWH was red carded and is likely to be suspended for what was an accidental high shot in which George Rose practically fell into him.
Then you have Billy Slater, with about his 10th out and out shoulder charge this season, who's also kicked somebody in the face, and he's escaped charge for this.

Accidental high tackles = red card and suspension.
Intentional, REPEATED, shoulder charges = no charge and only a caution on the field
No, he was given a warning if I remember rightly.
To compound the issue, he's been shoulder charging all year, it's not as if it's a one off thing, he already knocked out that Cowboys player earlier in the year with a shoulder charge.
Earlier in the Panthers game he shoulder charged Segeyaro too!
A JWH, Matai, Pritchard would be spending serious time on the sidelines if they repeatedly ignored the new shoulder charge rule and went about throwing themselves into people every other game like that
How can slater continue to get away with that.
He's obviously coached to do that as a penalty is a small price to pay for stopping a try.
Pretty sure only shoulder charges with head contact can result in a suspension.
This was a case of a referee wanting his 15 minutes of fame. He was probably thinking: "They know I'm gay, they think I'm a soft touch. Well, I'll show them."
Smart play if you ask me.
Like everything else, consistency is the key
If that's the case it further exemplifies the point the NRL are idiots.
That someone like JWH can play within the rules, go for legal tackles, make an error in judgement and end up in a bad position because a tackler falls into him, and then be suspended for it, while someone like Slater can routinely and intentionally play outside the rules, making what we're told are super uber-dangerous tackles on an almost game to game basis, but avoid suspension, it's just f**ked.
