Hearing Tim Sheens will be the coaching director/general manager of footy operations

I actually think Gus Gould, Tim Sheens and Brian Smith are at a point in their lives where the day to day coaching at a team is not their best bet and I think if we can get either Tim Sheens or Brian Smith at Parra to do the same role as Gus does at Penrith then it will be a great move.

I look at the Panthers were they are tomorrow with a team that was suppose to finish last this year ending up just over a win away from the Top 8 and both their Under 20's and NSW Cup teams in the Grand Finals as a massive success for their club. This is a Club going places...if we achieve half next year of what the Panthers have done this season we are heading in the right direction.

Agree entirely.

Some good points there.

The idea of the Taylor - Smith scenario would of been the selection I like but never happened.

I just look at the Tigers and think Sheens left the club in a mess where Smithy at the Roosters may not of gotten the results in the field, but look at how he turned them around.

Jake Friend was on the verge of being cut yet Smithy kept him on and turned him into a footballer along with blokes like Cordner, Gurrea and co.

If the coaching director role is set up properly then that person should not really have any day to day contact with the players.

come on - you're not allowed to make mention of any players smithy did well by - only those that he didn't get on with

I'd rather Smith but Sheens would do a good job also. The fact we have a GM of football opperations (what ever it's called) is a massive step in the right direction!

I couldn't give a rats if smith was appointed the director of cleaning the Leagues club pool ,if he was around in any capacity I'd feel confident our team was on the rise .

Didn't he work with the Manly forwards this year?
Perhaps Horo will return, shame we didn't snag George Rose...
No doubt Horo has been a much improved player this year but I was unsurprised to see it was he who rushed the Roosters line and got no one yesterday to allow that very soft try. Very reminiscent of his Parra days.
