It seems a good site actually, the first article I clicked on was a Buzzfeedy Top Five that's finishing sentence began with 'LOL' though  Glad it was the exception.

I think it suffers from the need to 'combat' Murdoch's influence on journalism. The issue is the best way to combat the 'FOX-effect' is to simply produce superior articles and trust there's people who will find them.

BTW, have you seen this?

Well worth the time to watch.

And we wonder why journalism as a profession is shit.

Articles pasted on forums like this = less people reading the article on the site it's hosted = less clicks to advertisers = less people buying papers = less money for the industry.

Not that I feel sorry for them by any means, but we have to lie in the bed we made...

When the profession includes lolJD as one of its representatives, that's all the proof you need.

Those tablets sound good but theoretically, the reason the doctors refuse to receive anything is because it can screw around with my depression. Or so they say.

Alba - weight is temporary, but class and beauty is permanent. Same goes for Dani.

If it helps, they are herbal sleep aids :)

I don't think Journalism is dead at all.

Journalists just need to find a better outlet than a Newspaper.

Most, nowadays use the papers to gain a bit of notoriety and then they just peel off and start a blog. Once they have some sort of following, they can generally take that with them and turn it into advertising dollars.

The paid Newspaper, as it stands is dead in the water.

Free Newspapers like MX, that you get at the local train station... They are going gang busters. People are still happy to read some news and light entertainment on the way home in the bus or train. They just don't want to have to pay for it. Of course, as long as the circulation is high, advertisers are happy to step into the breach.

Newspapers can survive, the business model just needs to change.

Nope I haven't, but you've been been handing out good recommendations lately so I'll definitely give it a watch tonight. :D

Anyone else getting those ads linked from random text on LU? Usually it's adware and can get rid of it but the cause doesn't seem to be on my end for once.

Nope. I had that a few weeks ago and it was on my end. Some sneaky ass thing that I never installed.

Yeah. I've had a few lately but nothing is coming up for this one, and it's only happening on LU and no other website. Weird.

Hah, not your typical hyperlink. This is green, double underlined with an arrow up top. Looks like adware but have done several scans and nothing.

Fair enough. I kind of suspected that after clicking the info on the pop-up. Wasn't 100% sure since it was almost identical to the adware I had on my computer last week.

Most places have its +'s and -'s, nowhere is perfect.

One thing we can all agree on though is that Cairns is a shithole and the people from there have rat like features and smell like cabbage.........:sarcasm::sarcasm:
Typical snot-nosed Tvillian. Townsville has one redeeming feature - the Cowboys. Cairns' redeeming feature is that it's not Townsville!
I'm still waiting for Rhino and Didgi to bite on my Cairns comment.....
I was at work mang, gotta leave the tasty bait there for a while.
