Paranormal means beyond the range of normal experience or scientific explanation. It pretty much means 'distince from normal', which cryptids are. They are paranormal until they are explained.
Paranormal does just not equal supernatural, as in ghosts and UFOs and telekinesis and whatever. The komodo dragon was once thought to be mythological. If you saw a minotaur now I'd definitely class that as a a paranormal experience.
And I class the Giant Squid as a cryptid, as scientists once classed them in the same nonsense category as mermaids.

I had an experience once. I know it wasn't a dream.

I play a lot of games with people. We usually sign up for them and we're given roles etc and then play the game. This one time, someone said they'd organise the next game. It took them a while to set it up. They needed to do the rules and such. Then they sent out the instructions.

My friends and I were really excited; this looked like a great game.

But suddenly, the organiser stopped, and the game just sat there for ages. Until finally, it disappeared... never to be seen again.

Occasionally I see what I think is a mirage of it where my friends and I play our game, but then it sinks down into the mist and doesn't resurfance again. We talk about it a lot, about what could have been, but none of us have ever seen Diablo mafia resurface again...

had two experiences

when i used to work at seaworld i would do the odd function as well across the three warner village parks (weddings, company xmas parties etc) and would start in the arvo and go to early morning. When we were packing up after a function at movieworld one night there was one box of stuff left on the ground and i offered to take it the storeroom because i grabbed it to begin with and knew where it went. Now the big stores warehouse is in the part of the park you the guests aren't allowed next to the movie studios and at night is a creepy place to walk around by yourself. I put the secruity code in and opened the roller door and found the spot on the shelf without needed to turn the light on and when i walked back outside to put the roller door back down i noticed somone looking at me through the window on the second floor.

It was a man wearing faded overalls and the only light i had was the street light outside so i couldn't completely make out his face but could tell he was staring straight at me. I poked my head back in through the open door and yelled out if he was ok to get out as i was locking up (would set off the motion sensor alarm once i set it and only have 30 seconds to get the panel inside to turn it off). Got no reply, yelled out again and again nothing. Was about to go up and see him but the sun was nearly up and had done 12+ hours and couldnt be stuffed so i closed the door locked up and headed back. Ask my boss is somone is suppose to be there and he gave me a strange look and asked what i meant. Told him somone was up on the second floor and he asked me to describe him. Told me "yeah that's just fred", "whose fred?" "well we dont know but not everyone sees him". Asked around and a few had seen him and best guess was he died in an accident while working.



Second was when i was working with the haz mat team for PB and we were doing asbestos sampling of schools for the broadband program. I went ahead and sketched up the rooms and dimensions and gave the guys the drawings to use for their sample locations the following night (had to do nightshift to avoid working with potential asbestos around the kids). So i was at Woodridge High in the afternoon waiting to meet the principal and grab the keys off the janitor when one of the teachers on her way out told me to say hi to the ghost in block b. I laughed and she replied "no seriously" and walked out.

I started on the opposite side of the school but eventually got around to block b which was the manual arts block and sat in the office to have my dinner. Inside the office i was sitting in was a cage with a door in it that had all the sharp and dangerous stuff to lock up and keep kids away from whilst it wasn't being used in class. I opened the door to it because i needed to get inside to get the dimensions of the place and left the door open while i sat and ate and suddenly the cage door banged close but the main office door stayed open (so it wasn't the breeze).

Shook it off and kept eating when i heard heavy footsteps coming down the corridor outside. The lioght switch at that end only lit up the first quarter of the corridor so i couldnt see much further then 5m or so even with the torch i had so when i stuck my head around the corner and yelled out i couldn't see anything but the footsteps stopped. As soon as i sat back down again they started up and were getting closer. Did the sam trick with the torch and yelled out and they stopped again. Was getting a little spooked so i decided just to get on with it and so i went into the next room which was the manual arts workshop that was big and had a divider in the middle which had been left open. The lights only turned on the half of the room i was in with the switches being at the opposite end. I jumped up on a ladder to get the angle of the ceiling when i heard the footsteps again this time they were in the same room in the other half that wasn't lit up.

I got out of their and made the rest up and finished off the next 2 blocks and left them for the guys that were coming the next night and i was off to the next school. Early morning after the following night i got a phonecall asking if anything creepy in block b had happened to me. I told them what happened and he said he had locked the front door to the block twice but found it opened again when they did the finalcheck of the place before they left. When he went to close it the last time the door was ice cold and was something pulling against him on the other side when he was trying to close it

And I agree, it's always interested me although I rarely believe it. Things like the Wow! signal and the Bloop spark my imagination. Fun to think about.

It can be said that nothing is paranormal since if it does exist it can be explained by science eventually. But that's not necessarily what paranormal means. There are weird things out there, and it's silly to think science has found everything. Every week they come up with more stuff that even a few years ago sounded impossible.

Sadly the Bloop seems to match the basic sound signature of an ice quake.

Just a couple of natural things that were out of place or odd more than anything. My family own a property near Dungog, I haven't been there in a few years (in fact they may have sold it, I don't see much of my family anymore) but when I was still at uni my uncle took me out there because something had been killing sheep and he wanted my opinion cos I studied ecology, even though I specialised in marine stuff we did a fair bit of work on predator prey relationships and part of that was kill methods. These poor sheep looked all wrong. They have big problems with wild dogs out there, but they usually kill sheep by disembowling them. These had either been suffocated with a throat grip or in one case killed by a puncture to the brain, and the only predators that kill like that are big cats. So that was weird. We never did find out what it was and it stopped about three months later. But every now and then farmers around there seem to report weird stuff like that, and people have reported seeing huge feline-type animals all around the Barrington Tops. And that place is so wild you never know what might be in there.

A friends husband swears there are yowies on his families farm in QLD. Would love to get out there and see what's doing. And a guy I went to uni with caused a minor stir a year or so ago when he took photos of a sperm whale with sucker scars the size of plates on it's head.

Otherwise there's been a few out of place lights or sounds but nothing major. I used to spend a lot of time in the bush or on the ocean and I'd say a lot of things people see could be easily explained if they spent the time. One of the coolest things I've ever seen was a glowing humpback whale, that was pretty amazing and simple to explain

I wouldn't call it a paranormal experience (although I guess technically it is), but my mother and I saw what I still believe to this day to be a UFO when I was about 13.

after world war 2 alot of the battiolons/squadrons had big cats as mascots that had been brought back from wherever the unit had seen action. When the order went around to destroy them due to quarantine reasons alot fo them didnt have the heart to do it and simply released them. Must be a few of them because if they are still being sighted then they are breeding and getting along fine

That's one explanation although I think it's been largely disproved. Another is exotic pets...eg just the other week I saw a story about someone shooting a poor lost leopard in the US.

Some people think that, like the supposed QLD Lion, it's a relict population of Thylacoleo. That seems unlikely to me though. Would be cool as f**k if true however!

talked to somone in up in tully once that reckons he has seen a megolania (not sure of spelling) on his land. Basically giant goannas up to 30feet+.
