Just after my dad died, I had my best mate come up to see me. We lived in a tiny little townhouse and I thought that he might find staying in the room of a recently-deceased person a bit weird, so I told him to take my bed and I'd sleep in my dad's bed.

At several points throughout the night, I could hear sighs - and they sounded as if they were close by.

I would switch the lights on but couldn't see anything.

It's possible the grief played tricks on my mind, but I also had another thing happen to me years before that.

I was in bed with my music playing, reading before going to sleep. One of my favourite and most played songs came on, but there was a difference - halfway through the song, there was a sound of static, and then I started hearing whispers coming from my earphones. At this juncture of the song, there was only supposed to be instruments.

I'm not sure what happened, but it freaked me out.

Nothing really worth mentioning, just a few minor co-incidences I guess
Not really a believer of paranormal activity unless I see it myself

Almost forgot another one that freaked me out for a long time (science found an answer, but it was still spooky).

I watched "The Exorcism Of Emily Rose", and in it they mention that 3am is the time where the gates between our world and the "other" world is at its thinnest. In the film, Emily Rose would get totally paralyzed and be unable to talk for several minutes at 3am. Legend had it that it was a demon messing with you.

It happened to me. At exactly 3am. I couldn't move or talk.

I went to a doctor and he said sometimes our bodies wake up but our brain doesn't, so we can't process basic info until our brain wakes up. So it was a normal thing to happen - but what are the odds of it happening at 3am?

Ooooooooo, spooky!

I had an experience once. I know it wasn't a dream.

I play a lot of games with people. We usually sign up for them and we're given roles etc and then play the game. This one time, someone said they'd organise the next game. It took them a while to set it up. They needed to do the rules and such. Then they sent out the instructions.

My friends and I were really excited; this looked like a great game.

But suddenly, the organiser stopped, and the game just sat there for ages. Until finally, it disappeared... never to be seen again.

Occasionally I see what I think is a mirage of it where my friends and I play our game, but then it sinks down into the mist and doesn't resurfance again. We talk about it a lot, about what could have been, but none of us have ever seen Diablo mafia resurface again...

Similar story, but a couple of friends of mine, Sarah and Alan, always get together to play board games. We play anything from Scrabble, to Monopoly to Game of Life. Well one day, Alan was on his way home from his Dad's work - I think he works in a dodgy industrial area, and got bashed on the way home. We thought, to cheer him up, we'd pay him a visit. Well on his way back, he had found a game.

We set it up and started playing. It was really fancy, like awesome wood-engraved pieces, and this electronic bit in the middle that read out really cryptic clues. We started playing, and it's Alan's turn. He rolls, and moves the piece, and the clue comes up:

"In the jungle, you must wait 'til the dice read five or eight."

The next minute Alan is sucked into the game and never seen again.

That was the last time we played Jumanji.

It scared the shit out if me because I had recently seen the film and it coincidentally happened at 3am.

But once I saw the doctor, I was able to relax.

I believe in ghosts. I know not everyone does, but I've seen some things...I have told people of some of the things I've had happen and they don't believe me.

I realise that the mind is very powerful, but I'm not sure it's strong enough to, for example, make me feel like I was literally on fire - when the temperature outside was ten degrees below zero. The central heating was off, and my sister didn't feel anything.

I used a thermometer to check my temp and I was perfect.

Then I went to the bathroom to drink some water and pour some on my face - and I was pale. I was burning hot, without sweating, and the palest I've ever seen myself get.

Went to a doctor and they said it was a flu.

Maybe he was right, but I am telling you - something was not right with me that night. I don't know what it was, but it was not good.

*urge to rage rising*

Maybe you were having a hot flush :sarcasm:

I'll never do a seance or play with a wigi board. I've heard too many tales to believe they're just harmless fun.
