I understand the skepticism, but he was looking good when he first came onto the scene. Can’t say I have watched closely enough to notice any failings since but sure, they (Storm) may have better options. We don’t.

Don’t forget, O’Brien would have a good handle on his abilities. If he becomes available, we will know how the coach feels.

Yes please. Strengthens a position and can comfortably play as a 2nd playmaker. Could be like our Wade Graham.

The talk on NRL 360 was that Matterson and manager believe he is currently underpaid and are after a bigger/better deal.

Ramien noodle all over again.......think we should pass on this type of character, although at least he did put in for his employers this year.

My great hope is that Wests start getting some 3rd parties together so we can rumble with the big end of town like the Roosters, Broncos, Storm etc. Until we get 3rd parties we will never win a title.

Gardner is too busy not sacking coaches and trying to re-establish a timeline to suit the narrative of his replacement’s hiring (and his underlings), to have time to worry about things that will make a difference.

Sadly you may be correct.

A bit disappointing that we cant afford a top shelf 5/8 and a blue chip centre and second rower. If we were the Roosters we'd be looking to add at Milford, Bird and Cameron Murray and somehow still have room for a mid season transfer or SL import.

The difference between the have 3rd parties and have not 3rd parties is astronomical.

https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/...s-up-to-six-months-out-after-surgery/?cs=7580

- Our main recruitment focus for 2020 is for a 'strike centre'

- Lino out for 6 months with shoulder surgery, Crossland and Simi Sasagi to get first shot at 5/8 spot

- we've hired a full-time kicking coach, a full-time wrestling coach, part-time sports psychologist and referee coach.

- Ese'ese likely to be staying put and D. Saf and Hunt have extended their contracts for a further 2 years

If Lino is out for a while it becomes more important to get an experienced half and use young up and comers in reserves or bench to gain experience.
