I've also got money on Alamoti to score the most tries in the 2026 NRL season @ $21.....so you're on the wing mate.

Casey played on Sunday. Smart to not play him.

Ivan learnt from the shit show of last year, players need to trial

It's the same number of interchanges so nothing will be different unless a specific injury requires a reserve.
Lots will be different, especially in the last 20mins. You'll want players to help you chase points and some to defend a lead.

Sure but you're not gaining the number of interchanges so the value of a utility is still there. Someone like cogger can play cup and be number 18 in case Cleary goes down but you run your 14 - 17 just about the same. It's not like we've got so much talent there's a superstar sitting in reserve for some tactical advantage. It'll be guys from reserve grade.

The way I see it, based on what we’ve seen from Ivan and the whole club really.

I think he’ll continue to run very similar rotations, but I think he’ll use different players through the rotations and hopefully use it to rest players and give experience.

For example, if he runs with Going on the bench, he can be used to rest Kenny as well as our edge players.

If that’s the case, he can give someone like Edger time at FB, whilst also resting Dyl. Most likely when we have a game wrapped up.

Outside of those types of opportunities, I’m not expecting ground breaking changes to our system. But I guess we’ll see how it goes.

We'll probably be the most conservative team in the comp with it. One because we are so good anyways and secondly we have zero impact players in the juniors worth trying, a Soni Luke type if they were actually good ect

Its going to make most teams more conservative. Bench rotations will be 3 man deep for 60 minutes plus with the other 3 guys there as injury cover unless the game is a blow out.

The tricky part will be rotating players.

In a perfect world I would pick Cogger every week to cover our halves. But when will he get to play NSW cup? He can't just ride the pine every week and get 0 minutes in either grade.

I wonder if we will see a return to the old days where bench players are allowed to play cup in the same week? Current scheduling and the RLPA would stand in the way you'd think. Player workload would come into question.

I think Cogger and Lussick are perfect for the bench. We dont need to worry about them not playing, theyll get minutes off the bench. If they arent big minutes its not a problem IMO.

Only unused players if the cup games is after first grade that week.

It's 2026 professional athletes basically playing a combat sport shouldn't be backing up.

I think Cogger gets 0 minutes if there are no injuries in the halves.

If Lussick and Going are in the 19 then Cogger wouldn't be required in the 9. They have to be better defensively than Cogger in the middle which would be our preference.

Our players should be fresher, which will allow us to maintain pressure for longer periods.

Might sound conservative, but it’s bloody effective.

Didn't think of that. With how tough the game is itd be hard to back them up. I'd juat be worried about what you said with cogger getting no game time. I'd rather Nathan's back up playing and getting in the reps each week in case he has to take the 7 for a few weeks.

Id be super keen to see Skipps used as an impact player if we arent thinking about rotations etc he would be great to throw on for 10-15 at hooker or lock while we had momentum and tell him to attack what he sees, he showed hes got vision and knows how to use his speed to turn a 2 on 2 into overlap and he showed hes got some ball playing in him also. The younger hooker will start his career as an impact hooker also, probably a year off being ready but he might surprise us, he is far more starling than the kenny in terms of his style.
