    "American Rugby"?

I agree that the name rugby league is a bit of a problem here in North America, but as I've stated earlier, I'm not in the "American Rugby" camp. I've been thinking about this subject for quite a while and now I see someone has used what I thought would be a good idea. The USARL now has a youth...

    Apple Pope

I agree. The US is just too big to have teams on limited budgets travelling far and wide at this time. I can see any number of small competitions emerging now, perhaps as many as six or eight. In time though, as the game grows, I feel there will be four major competitions - West coast, Mid-west...

    Wales v England

So far I have been able to avoid hearing the Wales v England result. Does anyone know where I might be able to watch an archive edition of this game. Please, please, please don't post the score on this thread.:)

More internationals for Canada in 2012

Since we are all speculating about Canada's 2012 international season, I'll add my two cents worth: Colonial Cup - home and away v United States (2) One or two games against Jamaica - home and/or away(1/2) Irish Wolfhounds - home and then away, (2) followed by 2 or 3 games in England setup by...

More internationals for Canada in 2012

No, I'm a little too old for that. I'm just helping behind the scenes.

This is great news. And what a great recruiting tool for those of us in British Columbia!!!

    So what now?

I stand corrected. I guess I would still say it is NBC hype though, although five years away. I can't think of any other reason for them to show the LV 7's and the RUWC final. That is more union in the past few months than I am sure they have shown in the past decade.

    So what now?

I agree with you on your last point. I watched a number of the RUWC games, all of them on TSN in Canada, except as I noted for Sunday's final. All of the games were in high defininition, and I must say, the picture quality was the best I have ever seen. I don't know if the cameras were...

    So what now?

Well, the rugby union world cup final was broadcast on Sunday into every home with a TV set in the United States and Canada. The game was shown in the middle of the afternoon on the west coast and would have ended just before prime time in the east. As everybody knows, Sunday is pro football day...

    So what now?

You never know. I watched the rugby union world cup final in the middle of the afternoon on the west coast on Sunday. The game would have ended just before prime time in the east, and it was on NBC. Yeah, it was a delayed telecast, but it was on one of the biggest networks in the US. The game...

    Introducing rugby league in Canada

As a member of British Columbia Rugby League, an affiliate of Canada Rugby League, I am trying to find ways to introduce rugby league to the people of British Columbia. BCRL presently has a number of exciting opportunities on the horizon and we are trying to find ways to get the "rugby league...

    Re name forum to USARL

Niu has been front and center with rugby league in the United States since the begininng, in fact, as you know, he is the beginning. He also coached the team in their last game prior to the South Africa game, and it is your feeling he had no say in the selection of players. Well, if you believe...

    Re name forum to USARL

Guilty as charged. Although I will say this - I tried to stay off Facebook until after I saw the replay of the Wales-France RUWC game so didn't know the score until later. I tried to find the score on the the AMNRL site but it wasn't there. Anyway, congratulations to the US, but I still think...

    South Africa Rhinos

I would rather see South Africa emerge. I'm not sure how things are in South Africa but I think a World Cup berth would move the game along. I don't think that is necessary for the game in the States, in fact I think it might be a good thing if Niu and company are dealt a losing blow. There are...

    Another Setback for International RL

The NRL and ESL should have nothing to do with any rugby league governing bodies. The big four pro sports in North America (NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL) have worked in conjunction with their sport's world governing bodies, but have no say in the daily operations of such. Why - because, for the most...

Super League Grand Final 2011 spoilers

It's the first game of rugby league I've listened to on the radio. I just went with the first one I saw that made sense on the list in another thread. I'll keep that in mind for next season. I've only seen a few ESL games on TV over the years but plan on paying a little more attention in the...

Super League Grand Final 2011 spoilers

I listened to the game on BBC Leeds radio via the net. I've always enjoyed listening to hockey and baseball on the radio and today's Grand Final was pretty good as to knowing what was happening on the field, although it was pretty biased and I would rather have listened to a feed that was neutral.

    Johnson or Marshall??

I just watched last season's Four Nations final again. Yeah, I'll go with Benji.

    Populations in RL areas

LP, What are you hoping to accomplish with this list? I'm not trying to be glib - just wondering what you are using this list for. I do this type of thing from time-to-time for a variety of reasons.
