    General Discussion Thread

The journalists are reporting what the police have told them, that doesn’t make them dimwits. From the public’s point of view all that matters here is did he or did he not punch his wife in the face and leg.

That’s all the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, but the actual main part of the allegation is that he punched his wife in the face and leg. That’s what makes this serious, and what likely means he won’t play again until the court process has played out.

minimal? It’ll be the main part of the allegation, not sure what you could mean by “minimal”

The soecifics of the allegations have already been reported. He’s alleged to have punched his wife in the face and leg. (this comes from the police statement)...

Based off the charges and assuming this goes to court, May is unlikely to play again this season

Taylan May should’ve been sacked before, he never should’ve been re-signed and now we’ve lost a great bloke in Turuva. On field ability isn’t everything, you need a good locker room. It’s pretty clear Ivan has favoured the May family, no way without that connection he’d still be at the club.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Sewage pipes can be moved, just adds cost. If the team manages to get regular sell outs in the future, that makes the case for an increase much easier.

It could be expanded on the northern end with a road acquisition, it’s a pretty quiet road and not many driveways.

    New stadium - 2025

25k is the right capacity, any bigger and you risk losing atmosphere. We averaged almost 19k this year, that still leaves plenty of room to grow but also retain a good atmosphere for the leaner years.

    New stadium - 2025

So the majority of Parra fans want the old stadium, but the crowds improved in the new stadium? Maybe the majority haven’t got a clue on how to run a footy team? Honestly, some of the stuff I’m reading in here is comical.

    New stadium - 2025

Penrith has been a swing seat both state and federally for decades, hasn’t gotten us the money until now. No responsible management would reject the offer on the table.

    New stadium - 2025

The improved corporate areas of the updated stadium are what guarantees the future. Having on field success is huge, but you need to be able to capitalise on that. Modern teams make a lot of money through corporate support. As for waiting until a better option comes along, that’s a huge risk...

    New stadium - 2025

Not worthless. The final design might be a little different, but this is what it will generally look like.

    New stadium - 2025

No, but my guess is around 5000. Going off the pictures the capacity at the southern end actually looks reduced. So there’s 3000 extra capacity, plus another couple of thousand extra seats to make up for the reduced capacity at the southern end. The new western stand looks a lot bigger than...

    New stadium - 2025

The former government didn’t sell it properly. Everyone heard $600m for a stadium, but they should’ve sold it as a complete development. Still, this stadium upgrade secures the future of the team for the next 30-40 years, that’s good news.

No it’s not. Look closer, the concert stage is on the field. The shed is a food/drink outlet, like it is currently.

    New stadium - 2025

You can’t really build a grandstand at the northern end, most you could do is terraced seating. That could easily be added at a future date for not too much cost. There’s 20k seats down the sides of the field, that’s the main vantage points anyway.

No, that stage is on the field.
