    <.....> Dolphins?

Love the idea and would be definitely heaps cooler! It’s a shame these kind of ideas never get going with the movers and shakers though...

    <.....> Dolphins?

Problem is, South Queensland isn’t a defined term that anyone uses outside of the Crushers. The area is usually South East Queensland, or other regions (eg Darling Downs). North Queensland has always been a region that people and government use, but the opposite hasn’t.

    <.....> Dolphins?

Read my last post- Moreton Bay is a physical location that stretches from Bribie Island in the North to South Stradbroke Island in the south. It encompasses 4 LGA’s (Gold Coast, Redland, Brisbane and Moreton), not just the newer council that was formally Pine Rivers and Caboolture prior to 2009...

    <.....> Dolphins?

What I meant from not being vague is actual place names, not made up like River City. There is an actual Moreton Bay that incorporates most of Greater Brisbane, and it was the original name for the area. I also agree it shouldn’t be narrow in location as well to ensure broader appeal around...

    <.....> Dolphins?

I like Moreton Bay Dolphins, but would be cool with Brisbane too. Sunshine State sounds like a tourist advertising pitch and both River City and Sunshine State are way too vague. I think it needs to be an actual location.

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

Honestly mate, you’re making things up here. Petrie Station (a train station smack bang in the middle of the Moreton Bay Council) is a 33 minute train ride to Roma street. It’s then a 15 minute walk to Suncorp. That’s about the same time Maps are saying a trip from Freo to Optus Stadium is, but...

    Brisbane Jets

That’s where you’ve missed the point a bit lately, Red. The bid is meant to appeal to Greater Brisbane, not only the Northern Corridor. They won’t be “Redcliffe”. Plus, 90 minutes is a huge exaggeration, Petrie Station to Roma street is just under 45 minutes by train. And if you knew the area...

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

I really don’t know where they’ll go- I like Moreton Bay Dolphins, covers a good distance

    Rank the Brisbane bids

There would be zero support for rebranding the Titans. The Bears were fought against hard back in ‘17, and I can’t see it being any different again. Plus we are on the up and up, and this time with the right people running the show, there is no need to change anything. Finally, changing the...

    Rank the Brisbane bids

To be honest, yes people do commute from Logan to Titans games. It’s only a 40 minute train ride, that’s straight and easy. The train is packed at Beenleigh with fans going down, especially back when they were doing well. Watch it happen again now with the team we have and the success that will...

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

I actually don’t think this will be an issue. A lot of people commute for the games in the outer suburbs, and I can’t see it changing for Redcliffe. Also, they are going to appeal to a wider greater Brisbane audience, so I honestly think 15k will be a minimum for them.

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

The more I think about a second Brissie team, the more I I think it should be (and will be) the Dolphins. This contrasts with the fact I’d be more inclined to back the Firehawks though. Partly growing up on the Southside, the Firehawks would definitely be my second team, whereas the Dolphins...

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

This point here gets totally lost south of the border. The Sydney teams fan base has the opportunity to not only see their team’s 11-12 home games a year, but an additional 10 away games (including Newcastle) with a day trip or a drive. Everyone else (apart from the GC and Brisbane for their...

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

This is 100% the truth. I came on as a Titans fan initially as a second-team fan, but after a few years (around our ‘09-‘10 seasons where we were going really well) they became my first. Also, the game day experience was far better than Suncorp (getting to Robina is so much easier and most...

    Redcliffe put their hand up

Forgive my ignorance on most things Super League, but I saw these guys (Centurions) got the promotion and, seeing their club colours. I thought this could be good for Redcliffe. With the club stating they will be keeping red and white but adding another to differentiate them from the Saints. I...

Thanks for giving me a Kiwi’s opinion on this- much more relevant than us Aussies calling it from our arses!!! Your opinion makes sense too!
