    18th club, whose next?

I just love it when people quote themselves (selectively).

    Expansion club fanbase sizes

And so enter the numpties with nothing intelligent to add but to fill what is an otherwise informative thread with nonsense. Personally, I don`t blame the Australian education system, it`s the poor attitude to education at home that is the problem in this country.

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

To all the negative Nellies that said the " real Football" campaign in Adelaide would turn off the locals. # @Perth Red. On that point, the more I thought about the `Real Football` campaign the more I liked it. We want people making the comparisons between the codes and putting fumbleballs...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

It`s interesting because I found the game to be a bit tedious, so many sets were one out hit-ups and then kick, the sort of thing the game is criticised for by its` detractors. It was almost as if both teams had been instructed not to take any chances for fear of losing the ball in poor...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

What blows me away is the ignorance of some on here who say SOO should only be played in N.S.W. and Qld. Unbelievable. Would be the first to moan when we started getting half empty stadiums.

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Pity you couldn`t have used a word starting with `g` for "expressions", "detachment" and " innocuous", would have sounded better. I remember an interview with a Sydney journalist from the ABC years ago who was posted to Melbourne. She said when she first arrived there, people would turn their...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

I was doing the evening shift at the hospital, loads of computers at the nurse`s stations and staff room tv`s with it on, and a lot of patients as well.

What ? only a behind !! I`ve never seen him so angry, surely a maximum (LOL).

Seriously mate, you want to try listening to them three times a week.

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

The thing with Nine/Stan is if they got the whole of rights and paid handsomely for it, then they`d really have to get their act together if they are going to broaden the appeal of the game. We might finally start to see them rather than just concentrating on lowest common denominator stuff...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

But if they did spend a motza and took the " whole of rights" which is what I think Sneesby called them, off Foxtel then you`d like think they might really start to give game get the coverage it deserves and what they will have paid big-time for. Personally, I reckon Nine really should be...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Just as bad I reckon is the shoddy way they are treating the women. Colingwod cuts its` netball team despite its` supposed wealth and the fumbleball-w doesn`t even know - with only weeks before kick-off - how long their season is or where it will be played. Unbelievable, this should be causing...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

You could well say the same thing about Nine and Stan. Having the whole of League`s broadcast rights is a completely different story as compared to just having FTA. The numbers that League gets combined could be a game changer for that network. Especially if we start to go genuinely national...

Wonder why. Plenty of posts on the SportsIndustry site about f-ball`s record breaking crowds though.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Talk about in for the kill. "Peter V’landys’ dream of a $20 million Everest is set to come true in October after slot holders agreed to a deal to run Australia’s richest race for the eye-watering prize pool. "The prizemoney increase is set to be announced within days, slot holders and owners...

    18th club, whose next?

I`d be more concerned @Perth Red @The Great Dane about the Dolphins if there were three or more clubs, geographically speaking, between them and the Broncos, a-la Sharks and Roosters you might say, but there isn`t and thus plenty of room for them to grow their fanbase and be a Broncos size club...

    18th club, whose next?

But being wealthier than other clubs has worked for the Broncos in the past and will work again, because despite the limitations and equalising effect of the cap it is the wealthy clubs who have the money to stockpile the best juniors. Roosters being another example.

    18th club, whose next?

But that`s the point, they`re already a top three sponsored club in the NRL, $10m +, and what is it? $60m assets, I don`t think the novelty will wear off because they are going to be a perennial top 6 club because of that wealth.
  19. The Penguin #6.

    18th club, whose next?

I think that`s the beauty of the Dolphins, it would seem that we can take it as a given what with the wealth of the club and its` potential geographic spread that it`s not going to become another also-ran club. I really don`t think we need to wait ten years to see how they fare. On the other...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

It really does look like it will come down to whether V`landy`s can walk the walk and demand what we are worth from Foxtel. Got to admit I`m a big fan, but I`m nervous whether he will be able to stand up to his paymasters.
