    PNG's back.

The amount of coverage Fijian or even Fijian heritage NRL players get in the Fijian media is considerable. A Fijian super rugby game played in Fiji made front page news as the lead story recently. Multiply all those things sevenfold, both there and in any other Pacific nations involved if they...

Fresh Perth push for NRL expansion impresses Peter V’landys Perth has shot back into serious contention in NRL expansion plans after a phone call from newly installed West Australian premier Roger Cook to independent commission boss Peter V’landys. The premier contacted V’landys last week just...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Maybe a little exaggerated, but yes, definitely an element of the messianic. Interesting observation and one I intend to take more note of in future. It would certainly support your theory of a large number of ex-pats making up the viewing figures.

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Gee the crowd at the super rugby final in N.Z. is average for a semi-final. Quite amazing how watching that game seems like a poor form of NRL and in slow-motion. BTW crowd atmosphere is non-existent especially when I compare it to some of the League crowds I`ve witnessed over there recently...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

How can you possibly know that, that`s just speculating to suit your argument. The amount of people that follow any one particular sport in any state is only a fraction of the population. This would be the same of people who emigrate from Victoria to other parts of Oz. I don`t think it explains...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

I was reading an 2018 article by Roy Masters the other day and he said that the lions and the suns were the two lowest Tv rating teams in fumbleball. I certainly doubt that is the case with the former today. The fact that have only been in existence for 30 years (?) and can draw 40k, yet League...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Fumbleball is still getting way too many viewers in Brisbane, yet a pitiful amount in Sydney. There`s no time for complacency in Queensland, I think we`re paying now for not having had enough teams in Qld for the last 30 years. We have allowed for non-Broncos Brisbanite supporters to find an...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Mate that`s a bullshit answer that bloke gave you. The cross over between winter sports esp. League and cricket would be minimal. I know blokes who prefer to play Touch football in the off-season than boring f**king cricket. Cricket would be dead if it weren`t for the new short forms and even...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

I`ve signed up for a St. George membership for myself and my son based on the news that we`ve signed Shane Flanagan, yet it is very likely I still won`t get to see them play. Ergo, membership up, crowd figure unaffected and likely declining to position on the ladder. There may be reasons why...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

So, if I`m correct NRL is up an average of 91 000 viewers per match based on last year`s whole season average of 620 000(2022) to 711 000 2023 ytd. A 15% increase. Fumleball up an average 18 000 viewers per match to 555 000 from 537 000 av. viewers per match 2022. A 3.2% increase. A lot more...

"Golf : a good walk spoiled." Mark Twain. My favourite : "Golf: the death of hope" Woody Allen. Not so much fun quoting him any more.

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

It`s a game, well certainly the long form at least, that you`ve got to grow up with. It`s interesting to note that cricket has a hard time engaging aboriginal kids, they think exactly the same thing as you. Boring as watching grass grow, which is what you do a lot of when playing cricket.

Certainly having that sort of development in the background should be a great negotiating chip when it comes time to renegotiate our deal.

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Even when St. George are flailing they seem to lift in response to the big crowd that turns up for the ANZAC Day clash and give them a game worthy of the crowd. The Bulldogs are going to have to serve up better than that trash today if they want to grow this fixture.
