    Off Season 2024/25

Smith is a f**kwit, but this guy just leaves me speechless…. I’m all for second chances, but yeah.. nah…

    Cricket Crap

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/new-zealand-news-tim-southee-to-bow-out-of-test-cricket-at-end-of-england-series-1459691 Southee retiring after England series - fair career that, and the Boult/Southee/Wagner attack was key to our second set of 'glory days', beatings by Australia the only...

Why is there little interest in the Kiwis in this forum?

Yep, a case of switching was outlined, I'm of the view that if you play for one country that should probably be it, or with a lengthy stand down... That said, if we want international league to thrive then it's good to have more than three competitive teams - and as TWHR notes, these kids have...

no my view as such, just putting a perspective out there

Why is there little interest in the Kiwis in this forum?

Serious question…. Would you also understand the sense of betrayal that many Kiwis might feel? it’s interesting I guess, as MV pointed out earlier that without NZ and Aust development systems there wouldn’t be Samoan and Tongan players at the highest level, but the same is true in football...

Aust v India Test Series 24/25 Revenge or India three peat ?

he was in the test squad recently though, I thought? Regardless, it is interesting that it's not like the old days when the likes of Hayden, Love, Blewett, M Waugh, Langer, Slater, Elliott etc etc were at various stages pumping out first class records but outside the test XI - that era was just...

Personally I’d still have RTS at 1. Harsh on Metcalfe loosing out to a fullback and a journeyman half??

Should have been your Saffa imo

Aust v India Test Series 24/25 Revenge or India three peat ?

Serious question…. Done with Renshaw? Guessing so, manufacturing an opener has been pretty successful in for many teams in recent years, ironically with the exception of the best player to try it… think he’d have been good in the long run because, well, he’s Steve Smith

    Proposed rule change for kick-offs.

Yeah, I dunno... guess I see the reasoning... head high tackles etc are part of the issue, but tbh tackling is the issue, at worst heads end up hitting hips or knees etc, but even a solid well executed tackle results in a significant trauma to the head, that is repeated over and over

The new Aussie recruit went pretty well, shame Manu didn’t come to NZ I reckon

Why is there little interest in the Kiwis in this forum?

Agree - the old days of tours were much more interesting for me... but that's long gone, in union too

    OT: US Election

I’m guessing you work in a Uni? I do too, and disagree with what you’re saying there, but there is variance around places, and in some a semblance of change

    OT: US Election

More extremely than most describe the hard right Sadd and Peterson are hardly grifters, they are good academics with the courage to express their views which are different to many in academia. It’s called academic and free speech…. The grifters are usually those running for office there are...

    OT: US Election

Universities are being destroyed by it, it's beyond any common sense, and NZ is right at the forefront

    OT: US Election

To be fair, much of that that description would apply to most politicians.... although Trump takes it to extreme levels... did Clinton cheat at golf?

    OT: US Election

And many call our government ‘hard right’… we’ve lost perspective, but certainly the left with their version of cancel culture, control, micro aggressions etc has become tedious imo.

    OT: US Election

No, but they exert a lot of influence…. Also like ‘far right’ the term is ambiguous

    OT: US Election

It really is interesting, and as you note I think people the world over are thoroughly sick of the radical left
