    It was still the NSWRL in '88. Even the Broncos were regarded as a NSW club. It was the SL war that destroyed expansion in the first instance, with its explosion of player payments. This happened once again in the last decade, a time when Perth and Brisbane 2 could have re-entered the league...

    Only if the test can detect the virus the minute the person is infectious. I wouldn't hold out any great hope of that.

    Not so sure this is quite correct but how likely is it that it will even go ahead, given it involves countries that are utterly rife with Covid-19? FWIW I doubt the India Test series will go ahead either. The extended NRL season might only have the Sheffield Shield to compete with.

    9's plans are to renegotiate the existing contract on terms more favourable to them.

    I think this and the NRL's commitment to keeping its players isolated from the outside world is the reason Government appears to be giving the green light to an early resumption.

    There is no technically about it. He was found not guilty by the highest court in the land, after serving 13 months imprisonment.

    Nine are carrying on like a good sort because they believe no one else wants Rugby League. If they believe it most likely it's true.

    I doubt they've got much to worry about. When I was in Manila for four months the Australia Network showed loads of AFL and only half an hour a week of League. It didn't convert me. I don't think too many Mexicans will be converted either.

    Than when? Pre 2011? Of course it is. They'd made the finals once in seven years when he landed in the place. It took another 3 years to make the finals, but we've been there four from six times since then, 4 from 5 at the time he left.
