Fitting in Ponga and Armstrong when everyone's available

Armstrong had actually impressed me the last few weeks with his kick return carries. He's not getting dominated running into traffic like I thought he would. He's taken a few tackle 2 and 3 carries too and has been reasonably effective. If Marz keeps going down hill I could be convinced Dave...

Fitting in Ponga and Armstrong when everyone's available

I'd rather lose Armstrong than play Ponga at 5/8 again

You think we can can trade 2 backup players for 1 top line half? For what Coggs and Jenkins are on we wouldn't even be able to pay 50 % of what a good half would cost and we'd be out depth in both positions Squad management isn't as black and white as you appear to think it is mate

Match Discussion: Round 11 vs Gold Coast @ Suncorp Stadium, Milton / Yuggera-Turrbal

My guess is he's played big minutes in nearly every game so far this year and as a young fella not used to the NRL, the coaching staff have felt he needs a bit of a deload. We already have enough injuries at the moment so it's probably a smart move, especially against the weaker teams

    Ponga Appreciation Thread.

Lol this forum sometimes Fox clickbait article about a 3rd party deals being mishandled ---> Kayln wants to leave ---> Knights want to offload him for Munster ---> purple monkey dishwasher Never change guys

Yep, you'd certainly need no brain to do it

    a. Props are trending towards smaller and more mobile in the modern game b. I don't know you but I'd hazard a guess you are carrying more fat and less muscle than Brodie

Brailey is 179cms @88kgs Jones is 180cms @103kgs Brandon Smith is 180cms @95kgs Jones isn't exactly "hooker sized"

Playing in the middle isn't the same as starting at prop Sure, he might get some time at lock but I'd bet good money we never see Friz in either the 8 or 10 jersey

Match Discussion: Round 9 vs Warriors @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

100%. I mentioned it in last week's game thread and he was great again this week He's turned into a real lumberjack in the middle for us and as the trend for more smaller and agile middles continues he will be valuable in the squad as a prop.

Match Discussion: Round 9 vs Warriors @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Tough call this one Warriors have struggled lately and tend to be down on current form away from home but Newcastle are down on troops and only just seem to be finding their feet energy and mentality wise Playing at home just might give them the edge but I'm certainly not confident of a win

    Sack Adam O'Brien

Whatever our opinion is of AOB, the players certainly respond to him and universally love the bloke. The effort on Sunday is clear evidence of that when compared to what's happening at South's with JD at the moment and he's seen, or at least was until recently, as a better coach than AOB. Are...

    Rumoured Targets 3

He wouldn't be a step up from Hastings other than his age. He's certainly not a leader yet which is something we cannot afford to substitute out in trade for youth alone I don't see him as a 5/8 either so I don't think there's much value in getting him to play alongside Jackson Would be a good...

We are but playing a backrower there, as others are suggesting, seems more of the same of what you just pointed out

Match Discussion: Round 8 vs Dolphins @ Suncorp Stadium, Milton / Yuggera-Turrbal

Based on my eyeballs mate. The defence numbers up on Frizell which makes space for his men either side. They don't do the same for Lucas We also have a combined NRL games total of 18 from our 2 starting backrowers. Call me old fashioned but I'd prefer we have at least 1 of our edges be...

Match Discussion: Round 8 vs Dolphins @ Suncorp Stadium, Milton / Yuggera-Turrbal

Right now Friz is more threatening than Lucas, I really can't go with you saying the opposite bro. I think you are overlooking just how much Friz holds the right edge together defencively too. I like Lucas and think he has a future as a starting backrower for sure but he is not near Frizells...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Can't agree with this bro They were the halves when they played us a few weeks back and the Storm attack was awful that game. Pez has all the hallmarks of a kid who is plateauing and Wishart is more a hooker than anything
  19. The Axe of Druss

Match Discussion: Round 8 vs Dolphins @ Suncorp Stadium, Milton / Yuggera-Turrbal

Why are we wanting to move Friz into the middle when he's been so potent both sides of the ball on the right edge for a big stretch now? I agree we need more speed and mobility in the middle but moving him is not the answer. You know who was really good there yesterday? Jones. Im gonna give him...
