    Round 5 Vs Eels

Did anyone suggest he was? He’s our back up not our first choice. He’d be on $100k, you’ve gotta be realistic in your expectations.

    Round 5 Vs Eels

Lol you realise he’s not papahyzen or ponga yeh? No fullback is getting close to Martin in that situation unless he’s in the line next to him. Aekins was either the sweeper or the 2nd/3rd receiver in that play, you think it’s a lack of effort that doesn’t get him 30m up field in 1.2 seconds...

    Round 5 Vs Eels

I’ve been critical of Martin before but he was sensational tonight, especially given his long lay off & having to play the 80 odd. Would like to see Luai stay on when Burton comes on. Either move Luai to fullback or play Burton as a lock / roaming forward.

    Round 5 Vs Eels

ok ok so let me get this straight. Crichton misses 2 tackles that lead directly to tries = you get that with young guys. Aekins ‘misses’ a ball that bounces at 90 degrees away from him & is somehow the only one who was supposed to be in support in the 79th minute on the right edge = Aekins...

    Round 5 Vs Eels

f**k me some of you need to get realistic, we weren’t even close to average that second half. Our defence was quality apart from a couple of lapses which happens when you have a good young centre v a very good experienced one. Great performance overall. Fell asleep for 10 mins & they made us...

    Round 5 Vs Eels

I hope you wrote that before he fumbled in goal. We won’t agree. The Kids playing very well despite his limitations.

    Round 5 Vs Eels

That’s what he is though. You put someone who is more effective in offence, you probably concede a few more tries as well.

    Round 5 Vs Eels

RCG actually looking quality. Maybe a change has been good for both of us.

Like the one To’o scored from?

    Round 5 Vs Eels

Our back 3 has been superb under constant pressure & poor conditions. Aekins might not be a rolls Royce but you’d struggle to find a fullback as safe as him at the back. Great positioning, great under the high ball & works his arse off. If he hard a yard more pace would be a serious player...

    Round 5 Vs Eels

I agree we have to move away from the constant bombs at the end of the sets but I also think our best chance of winning is a boring game plan of barging up the middle, building pressure & then hopefully the game opens up for us in the last 20. I sound like Sir Hook again.

    LETS BE POSITIVE

I want Hook to sign with Cronulla just so he can turf Moylan again. Like @betcats said, Sir Hooks complicated game plans would actually be a major success with the current pace of play. The man was ahead of his time.

    Round 5 Vs Eels

Call me Ivan but I'm going with... 1. Edwards (Aekins) 2. Mansour 3. Whare 4. Crichton 5. To'o 6. Luai (Burton) 7. Cleary 8. JFH 9. Koroisau 10. Tamou 11. Kikau 12. Capewell 13. Yeo 14. Burton (Kenny) 15. Tetevano 16. Leota 17. Burns Coach: Sir Hook - what a weapon his side would be with the...

    Round 4 Vs Warriors

I think he is. His work out of dummy half is invaluable. Gets our sets rolling forward immediately.

    Round 4 Vs Warriors

Don’t try & stick a little dig at Luai in there you sneaky dog... I see ya. But agree with all of that.

    Round 4 Vs Warriors

Maybe I’m sounding like Ivan & being reactive rather than proactive, but if we keep winning I don’t see the need for wholesale changes. I think it would have a detrimental affect on team moral as well. I also think Sauce has been excellent this year despite his limitations.

    James Fisher-Harris Appreciation Thread.

Tbh I used to think he was a run of the mill backrower. Good call from me.

    Round 4 Vs Warriors

Im sure Burton kicked at least 2 dead. His kicking was very poor the first half, as it was the previous 80, but it seems to get overlooked. Burton is an outstanding talent by the looks of things but it’s the most Penrith thing ever to throw away a player for the next shiny toy that comes along...

    Round 4 Vs Warriors

2 tries from Burton - 1st one was a great kick / assist by Luai (after couple of poor bombs from Burton), 2nd try was good instinct but a lucky deflection. Terrific ball for Burns but again Luai was just as influential in that play. He looked decent but the commentary team were riding him...

    Round 4 Vs Warriors

He looks fit as. Our whole side looks close to Sir Hook levels.
