They've thrown in a rubbish effort every few weeks as long as they've been under Arthur. They're due one soon surely.

That said I never feel good coming up against a team with so many ex Panthers. Still scarred from the Sharks of the last decade.

Sharks had Graham and Lewis.
Parra have pea hearts like RCG big difference

Call me Ivan but I'm going with...

1. Edwards (Aekins)
2. Mansour
3. Whare
4. Crichton
5. To'o
6. Luai (Burton)
7. Cleary
8. JFH
9. Koroisau
10. Tamou
11. Kikau
12. Capewell
13. Yeo

14. Burton (Kenny)
15. Tetevano
16. Leota
17. Burns

Coach: Sir Hook - what a weapon his side would be with the rule changes.

Whare is as good a defensive centre as there is in rugby league.
He used to be. But while he can still put on a great hit his defensive reads are not even close to what they used to be.

There were a few occasions last year where he was made to look no better than Naden in defence. I don't think our defence would suffer much (if at all) if we replaced him. Should easily gain more in attack than we lose in defence.

Just watch the one good game he plays will be against us. As is tradition for ex Panthers.
He has run 200+ metres in his past 2 games for Eels. After failing to hit even 100 metres in the 2 before that.

If he has a huge game this weekend it would be his third in a row...not because he saved one for against us.

Blake, Jennings and Sivo are more concerning than RCG though. Even if RCG has his career best game. We can cope with that against our pack. If the backs do... We can't match that with our backline. Hopefully we can stop their pack and have their halves and backs playing without momentum.

Martin will play if fit for Burns

I didn't realise he'd played so well. Thought he was alright this week just gone but not 200m.

The rest of what you said absolutely. Our pack can match anyone.

They are flat track bullies. Beat their pack and you beat them.

No he still is, he had a bad patch last year, the one time in his whole career, then went back to being himself.

He ran well. But made 2 errors that I recall aswell. Defensively not sure how he's doing. Stats look good. But he is good for soft misses too. Nathan will make the most of that.

Reckon Billy Burns is a strong candidate to play centre. He’s faster than a typical backrower, and he seems to run good lines.

He could either replace Whare, or if we were really bold Crichton could move to FB and Burns replaces him in the centres.

Would also open up a bench spot for Mansour to play impact minutes as a backrower.

I'd love to get Crichton to fullback and Mansour to impact forward. Much better team.

Burns. Capewell. Luai. May. Happy for any of them to get a crack. Preferably in that order.

We have no depth in the backs. But plenty of good forwards fighting for spots I can't see defence losing anything with Burns or Capewell at centre. But our attack should improve.

Burns and Luai only played centre vs Knights last year. But we put on a cricket score with them in centres so it's certainly worth a proper look. But Cleary wouldn't be likely to drop him and certainly not after a few wins

It is for mine for now while Naden or backrowers are the only other options.
Yes. His 72.7% tackle effectiveness negates his 0% attacking effectiveness to the point where try scorers just aren't good enough to replace him. Brian To'o deserves better.

Tackle efficiency from each of the options:
Capewell at 91.1%
Burns at 91.1%
Luai at 82.8%
Naden at 76.4%
Whare at 72.7%

Granted Naden was only one defending in centres... But even if these other guys miss an extra tackle or two they should match Whare atleast.

He's as good as a defensive centre as there is in rugby league and some tackle defensive percentage nonsense doesn't mean shit.
