    Nicholas tries hard and he's a great bloke but he isn't a first grade standard defender . If Luciano Leilua comes off the bench on his side two of the worst defenders in the team will be marking Billy Kikau who will have Brent Naden outside of him.

    Just so you know all top 30 contracts are on a 100K minimum. Development contracts are 75K minimum. Both were in the development squad but are now in the top 30.

    It seems it's certain to happen. Ideally no other club is willing to take him for the money he's asking for. He asks for something reasonable considering his form and we take him at that.

    A top 8 team today could playing like a bottom 4 team in 3 weeks. I don't much stock in the whole easy/hard draw thing. The only thing I can say with confidence is Storm at Melbourne is the type of hard game you want right before finals.

    Love Dallin just jeez a 90kg fullback taking kamikaze runs at front rowers. Can't see his body being up first grade standard when he's around 29/30. Respect him for the way he plays and still like for the good stuff he did at the club but he wouldn't last long.

    He kinda reminds me of Fergo. Big, agile, good in the air can bomb a try and be bit rocks and diamonds, off field incidents.

    Jed's is deceptively quick. Isn't a speedsters but he's got octopus levels of lanky arms. It's hard for centres to beat him on the outsides because of that and his massive leg stride.

    Surprising to see Sele not even in the 21 man squad. His defense can be a bit dodgy sometimes but he creates a fair amount of points for a lock/prop. Definitely rate him over Ellis.

    Kikau was a bit dodgy in defense last year, he's been better this year. In the past MWZ hasn't been consistent but lately he's been solid.

    So are Daine Laurie and Brian Too. The problem becomes how all these talents fit them all in there. We could drop Liam Coleman. But almost all our other reserve graders players are definitely good enough for that level at the minimum.

    Just fyi Souths scored a try from us in reserve grade from a bomb. It looked like Edwards' fault at first but I saw the Brian Too's head drop after it and Edwards went over and consoled him so I assume Too called for the ball.

    Cleary and Maloney moved sides because Maloney is our worst defender, Kikau was our second worst last year and Yeo is our best and Cleary is one of our best.     It's a hooker's primary job in attack to engage defenders to create space for those outside or inside you when the guy playing the ball wins the ruck. I'm sure there's reserve grade hookers that get tackled taking more runs than Cameron Smith but that doesn't mean the guy that takes the most...
