    Round 7 Vs Knights

Solid performance last night from everyone. Kikau a bit rocks and diamonds. Critta was solid on the right and I felt while still clunky there was a bit more directness about his work. We’ll see in a couple weeks. I think To’o should get the 3 points. No one really starred but his tough...

    Round 7 Vs Knights

I think we are generally turning down the set restart in favour of going through the hands a lot more this year. Sure against the top sides we absolutely need to be able to control the game ruthlessly but against the bottom 10 sides it absolutely makes sense to run through our plays as much as...

    Round 7 Vs Knights

Yeah if Capewell goes we have Kikau and Martin as NRL second rowers. Even if he doesn’t you upgrade the front row rotation with Martin over Eisenhuth and replace his bench minutes with a boom rookie. Jenkins/Turuva/Momo all options for right centre next year if we go that way. Probably...

    Round 7 Vs Knights

I’m pro dropping May. He adds nothing when he comes on unless it’s injury cover. if Kenny is our 4th bench guy he covers lock/hooker. Fullback goes down Critta covers, Capewell to centre, Martin/Kikau play bigger minutes on the edges. Winger goes down Crichton goes to wing, same centre/edge...

    Round 7 Vs Knights

I’d go Staines to fullback and Critta to centre, Rennings to wing. See how Critta/Burton go with that centre pairing while Momo is out and go from there.

    Non Penrith games

Don’t disagree that Latrell is a bit of a grub but I didn’t think there was much in it. Fine or one week for careless would appropriate I think. Bloke was holding his foot he was jerking to get free. I don’t know if you could say he intentionally tried to kick him in the head.

    Round 7 Vs Knights

I’ve liked our early right side shifts where Staines has popped up a few in and created some half chances through his speed. It’s been a while since we had a guy with speed and the rest of the side need to learn how to use it. Compare it to Melbourne who are experts at unleashing JAC.

    Rd.6 v Broncos

Great game, incredible performance by the Broncos pack. They ran hard and had good line speed all night. We looked off but that might have been due to the level the Broncos brought. Good to get into a tight content and be forced to tough it out and come up with the goods. It’s interesting that...

    Rd.6 v Broncos

Jesus TAB has us at $1.01 now. I’ve never seen a head to head that low.

    Opinion Penrith

Our 20s and Cup are undefeated as well. There’s some really good kids pushing through and they’ll come into a winning environment when we have to shed current first team guys. I think we’re pretty well set up for a long tilt but it’d be a significant departure from our typical terrible...

    Rd.6 v Broncos

I’ve caught a fair bit of the Broncs this year and they can go with sides for 20 min periods here and there but simply don’t have 80 minutes in them. It very well could be a tight first 20 so we need to stay patient and know that our bench will almost certainly be able to blow the game apart.

    Round 5 vs the Raiders

Cleary could fill in at dummy half if Api went down and Burton slotted in at 7. Outside of a beautiful cut out pass for a try assist 3 times a season, May just doesn’t add much outside of versatility which our 17 already has in spades. I’d rather have a guy on the bench that we can bring on...

    Non Penrith games

I think the current way the game is played really suits Hooks style. The Dragons are fit, aggressive and disciplined. They don’t have the roster to compete with the top 4 but those qualities alone will set them apart from the rest of the chasing pack. Great coach for where they’re at and...

    Rd.6 v Broncos

Sure but he’s also 20 and in his sophomore season so there’s nothing wrong with using our dominance over weak sides to get his confidence and form up.

    Rd.6 v Broncos

You’d expect our line speed, ruck dominance, discipline and kicking game will mean a huge amount of Broncos kicks under pressure inside the 30. There’s also an enormous gulf in class between the kicking games of DCE/Wighton/Williams/Hodgson and the Broncos halves. There’ll be much less pressure...

    Round 5 vs the Raiders

Ivan has actually been trying a fair bit this year particularly with the forward rotation. Martin alone has come onto both edges and the middle, Kikau’s spell has moved around, our halves are combining more, left edge popping up infield. Now is the time to do stuff, not in the grand final. See...

    Round 5 vs the Raiders

Absolutely reckon we should try Critta on the right in place of Momo. Or even switch them during Origin when Burton goes into the halves. Critta may actually benefit from being the main target rather than Kiks. It’s been nice to see Cleary get some kicks in for Staines but man we need to unlock...

    Round 5 vs the Raiders

I think one thing this side can do that very few can these days is reverse momentum. They seem to flip a switch when needed and suddenly we’ve marched 70m down set and put in a perfect kick and have the foot on the throat. We were obviously uncharacteristically sloppy tonight but wow was our...

    2021 season

The league should be thankful that we aren’t just towelling all the shit teams but we’re feeding them superstar kids to get out of their holes. I think unless Cleary has a blinder of a series for the Blues, we could go through the season only dropping a game or two and a heap would still have...

    2021 season

NRL, Reggies and Flegg all top of the table. Penrith is set up to dominate for a long time.
